I remember before the fight a good amount of people were giving Kirkland a chance of winning because of his punching power and relentless pace coupled with incredible stamina. Most were expecting him to at least test Canelo's chin, but because he got destroyed now Kirkland is a complete bum who never had a chance. I am not saying that Kirkland is a great fighter but at his best he was always dangerous, people are forgetting that now. I am pretty sure that Cotto saw the fight too.

A good amount of people were also saying Kirkland was coming off a year layoff, has a crap chin and was gonna get sparked out. A lot of people, such as myself, were even predicting a first round KO.

But you know what a good amount of people WERE actually saying, though? That Sergio Martinez, even at 60% with a bad knee was gonna spark Cotto. The opposite happened and now Martinez is getting the bum treatment.

Lol and I was one of the ones saying that Martinez was going to lose, based on how bad he looked against Murray, and hearing about his multiple surgeries. Honestly looking at how bad Martinez looked the night he fought Cotto I think some welterweights would be have been able to beat him. Kirkland fought like he always does while Martinez didn't look anything like himself. Still I digress, your point is sound.

And Canelo faced a guy ishida ass ****d. wich one is worse? Atleast Geale is a former champ and has some good wins on his resume. kirkland is a level below Geale.

Kirkland did manage to come back after that first loss. I don't know why are you trying to justify Geale match up through Canelo's opponent. Geale got smashed by Golovkin and why should he face Cotto. Cotto isn't facing the best guy here.

Kirkland gave it his all whereas Geale gave up as soon as possible because he knew it.
