Only on here is Lara popular. Not in the real world.
I'd like to see GGG stomp out Lara. But I understand why his team would take a pass on him now.
Since when has being "popular" become a pre-requisite to fight Golovkin? Were any of the 35 pot washers he's fought so far huge fan favourites or draws? No....
Lara has been in a number of high profile fights including a PPV with Canelo. Literally no one had a clue who Willie Jr was. Martin Murray isn't even popular in the UK. I could go on but I guess I'll just allow you guys to continue to embarrass yourselves.
No fight was ever offered. Lara's name was presented to Sanchez as a POSSIBLE opponent and Sanchez said no, it would not be an interesting fight. There were no prior discussions between Loeffler and Lara's people and HBO was never involved, nor was there any insinuation that Haymon had given Lara permission to fight away from PBC. In other words... there was no fight to offer.
If you are going to present an argument, at least present it fairly and honestly and include all the facts that are known.
loeffler gave gggs team that option and they said no, what else you need? a pre-contract?? why is loeffler giving them that option if the fight cant be made to begin with??
why will they even bother asking hbo for the lara fight if gggs team doesnt want it??
the lara fight wont reach networks or promoters cuz one side doesnt want it...

I agree GGG certainly didn't look great but a lot of people are underrating Willie Monroe Jr who is a decent fighter who only lost to Darnell Boone early on in his career who has made many good fighters slip up!
The sad thing is with GGG beating these type of opponents we will now need to wait for Monroe Jr to fight another couple of opponents to prove to us that he is a solid opponent and I'm pretty sure he'd beat a lot of good fighters at 160 assuming he doesn't take that TKO loss badly.
Lara Vs. GGG would be great to see but at 154lbs does he have the pulling power to really demand that, I'd like to see Lara move up to 160 because I personally believe he could be one of the most dangerous fighters up (not with punching power) there but maybe he doesn't have that confidence in him yet that and the fact 154lbs does have a good few names he has yet to fight.
At the very least Lara should atleast ask for a catchweight of 158/157lbs I think that's reasonable but to ask for Golovkin who is making headlines to submit every term in your favour, that's not right.
i wasnt talking about you, i dont consider you a nutthugger, but it was a bad dump for many others, the article is here on boxingscene if you want to read it, but you already see that the most hardcore ggg fans cant deny this... http://www.boxingscene.com/golovkins...rn-shot--93854
If what you was saying is true than yes it would be a bad dump for Golovkin groupies, no doubt. I'm just asking you when did Abel refused it and what kind of offer was that? And at what weight? Has he explained why he refused it?
For exemple if Lara was asking a big percentage of money that he clearly doesn't deserve against Golovkin, than I wouldn't blame GGG because Lara's marketability isn't even 15% of Golovkin's size.
At the end even if Golovkin wanted to fight him we all know very well that Haymon would never allow it. Shit, he NEVER puts his best fighter against the next best fighter from his own stable, than what makes you think he'll put him against K2 fighter?

The Lara Canelo fight was terrible.
Willie was on the rise. More people saw Wille on Boxcino than saw Lara against Ishe and Devlin put together.
Lara has chances to shine and he fails every time. And yet you still clamor for him.
I am down with GGG fighting him after the exciting Lemieux fight.
