Canelo would fight GGG, but not before fighting Cotto, understandably. GGG benefits from fighting Canelo while Canelo and Cotto benefit more from fighting each other rather than fighing GGG. They benefit financially and in popularity as well as a huge PPV attraction/event with 1.5 million buys or more written all over it. GGG vs Canelo or Cotto would be one of those decently popular 400-600k PPV, not a huge event just a big break for GGG.

It would basically be a charity to GGG and his team. Cotto is wrong for staying at 160 to fight Geale though, as if he deserved the lineal title shot. This guy just got beat up by GGG and can potentionally win the MW ring title moments after getting destroyed. Really not fair, just leave after the Martinez fight or fight GGG.

But yeah, Canelo has proved time after time that he would fight who ever the fans think is his new boogieman. He did it when everyone was on Trout **** and then on Lara, Canelo was accused of ducking both and fought both. He will do the same with GGG as soon as he gets Cotto out of the way.

Lara has never called anyone out. Lara's management, however, always utilize Lara's managed social media accounts and press releases in Lara`s name, to promote him in the media, usually by name associating him with as many popular fighters as possible.

They've name associated him with GGG, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto, and when Keith Thurman-Robert Guerrero did over 4 million views on CBS, they called Thurman out, too.

Its just a form of promotion that gets people talking about a fighter and that sees web pages being indexed by Google via topic title. So, for example, when people search for `GGG` they'll eventually find Lara's name cropping up.

Many boxers, under instruction of managers and promoters, and of their own free will, do this regularly as a means of promotion/self promotion.

It wouldn't be so effective, especially in the case of Lara, if people didn't actually believe that boxing fights were made by boxers calling each other out, but they do and so it is.

That Canelo tweet, is so obviously PR its not even funny. GGG barely knows English, so obviously someone wrote that for him.

Other than maybe 6 mayweather/ward stans on this site, nobody wants to see this fight. Lara had his chance to really showcase himself against Canelo and he ran all around the ring in a borefest. No interest in seeing him bore us to death again.
