Its was a joint ppv, the first of the millennium. Please. There hasnt been 1 Haymon fighter on HBO is 1.5yr. You never thought this was unusual? Now that you know, what do you suppose is going on?

And you think they'll agree to a joint PPV for May/GGG? Why?

Besides, as Dirk pointed out, his promoter has said there wouldn't be an issue. I suppose you're more "in the know" right?

HBO had no problem with Quillin vs Korobov.

Mando with terms set via purse bid, which HBo wasnt overly invested in. It was either going to Haymon, or Roc Nation way overpaying for it. I could see a Haymon mando on HBO, its amazing there hasnt been one in 2years +.

Lara just made it to the top of anti Gatti list. Hard to see him the one to break the ice. If that happens, GGG has truly arrived.

There's no HBO Haymon interraction either way. Loeffler brings an offer to Haymon, and Haymon accepts or doesn't. Because Lara has no promoter, the only promoter involved would be K2. Don't see why it matters that Quillin-Korobov was a mando. It's the exact same concept. Only promoter that would have been involved would have been Roc Nation, just like the only promoter involved in a Lara fight would be K2.

Edwin Rodriguez already broke the ice. It didn't take some super duper exciting draw to break the ice like you seem to be suggesting. All it took was Andre Ward saying pretty please, and HBO was okay with it because Andre Ward is one of their darlings. Just like Golovkin is one of their darlings.

All it takes is one promoter they do business with. Quillin didn't have a promoter HBO did business with when they were okay with buying the Korobov fight. Lara at 160 should be no problem, if he's throwing out the challenge, if not Cotto or Canelo in September, Lara at 160, great! Or Andy Lee will be healthy by then for the WBO belt? Then you have Quillin or the Lemieux vs N'Dam winner for the IBF belt. Lots of good fights for GGG at 160.

What extortion? Ward gave in and got a smaller cut. The 3 million license fee came in before Haymon got involved. Nothing was preventing HBO from saying goodbye to Rodriguez. If HBO is unhappy, they should be unhappy with themselves for wasting so much money on Ward, not unhappy with Haymon. It was their own ****** decision. Haymon had no leverage to extort them with.

Lara would be an elite scalp for any fighter. If Golovkin dominates and absolutely destroys Lara, it would be because Golovkin is that good. It would be great to see Golovkin to finally confirm it. It doesn't make the scalp any less elite. Just because you have elevated Golovkin to beyond the realms of the Gods already, it doesn't mean he shouldn't need to prove he belongs there. Golovkin might as well retire unless he fights Ward if that's how you feel. He has nothing else to prove apparently.

Sure the bettings odds will probably be lopsided. But I don't give a **** about them. People's view of Golovkin is just as hyped up as people's view of the 2000s housing market right now, and potentially just as unfounded. I think Lara-Golovkin will be a competitive fight.
