Why are you talking like you're taking some brave stance? Roman Gonzalez is probably the one fighter on NSB who is praised by almost everyone.
The only reason there aren't more threads about him is because no one disagrees with it. No threads started by attention seekers calling him a myth or a fraud.Comment

This kid is the best I've seen since Salvador Sanchez!
He is the best defensive boxer right now far supior to what Mayweather does.
Mayweather avoids punches and looks to return a jab or straight right then move off! He makes his opponents miss big and people are impressed by that, wrong!
This kid makes you miss barely so he's in position to throw combinations and remain on the attack off his counters! Thats boxing at its best!
Make your opponent miss and still be in position to do damage and this kid does it great!
In that respect i put him slighly ahead of Rigo and far ahead of Mayweather, Mayweather has become one dimentional because of his lack of offense.
He won't engage he won't throw combinations and gives ground for no reason. He could dominate a small guy like Manny but refussed to take over.
He will not take the chance of "punching with" his opponent. Some say thats smart or the way boxing should be, to me its smart if you know you can't take that chance.
This kid right now is the p4p King the only one close is Rigo and they could meet at 122lbs. Chocolatito was 125lbs the night of the fight from 115lbs
Make the fight a 118lb bantam and close it out at 125lb the night of the fight!
What a great fight that would be, put GGG on the semi against Ward at 164lb.
p4p King is "Chocolatito"Comment

Dragging a flyweight up to super bantam makes you wet? Sheesh... Do you realize rigondeaux is damn near in his mid thirties, highly inactive as of late and 3 divisions apart from Roman? In fact, Roman and his great skill set would remain a mismatch against Rigindeaux, not based on skill but actual physicality. Could you imagine that sht, seriously, a fight where Rigo is the bigger man
It's annoying to see how folks just be posting out of therir ass sometimes. Roman has unfinished business at 112, 115 and 118 is uncharted territory for the man yet you want him to jump up 10 whole pounds to take on Rigo.. Sigh. What next, Pacquiao should move up to face Ward since you know... He couldn't beat Floyd and Ward is the next big thing?
As for pound for pound, maybe, but top five would be hard to consider. Beating an over the hill, washed up Sosa, Yaegashi and my uncle don't catapult you into the top 5. Aside from that fact he has recently fought a man with more losses than most fighters have fights
his competition has been lukewarm for several years now. come on people, the kid is talented and all but one meh win over a 35 year old has been and he's the number 1 fighter pound for pound? He has time to grow and mold his own future, let him step up and face the Cuadras', Naoya's, Tete's and rematch Estrada before jizzing all over your monitors when his name pops up

Not that I don't think the kids defense could'nt be better, but with his style his defense is going to suffer. Its just the way it is. He slips the jab well and counters fantastic. He has good head movement, catches a good number of shots with his gloves and comes forward with bad intentions. I just don't see his defense getting much better than it is without dialing back his offense.Comment

so true. his defense was on display DURING his offense, he was slipping and ducking shots with very minimal movement you wont even notice it because everything's happening quickly and all you would notice is his brilliant offense. you would think he's wide open for counters while he's on the attack, which is normal, but his defense is still spot on.Not that I don't think the kids defense could'nt be better, but with his style his defense is going to suffer.
