  • Comments Thread For: DeGale: I Can't Wait To Stick One on Andre Dirrell

Olympic gold medal winner James DeGale (20-1, 14KOs) is only a few days away from the biggest fight of his career, when he faces Andre Dirrell (24-1, 16KOs) for the vacant IBF super middleweight in a Premier Boxing Champions main event from Boston, Massachusetts.

DeGale has not exactly been a fan favorite in the UK. But he feels a victory over Dirrell and bringing back a world title to the British fans will change his popularity around.

It won't be an easy fight with many labeling the match as a true 50-50 encounter. Several years ago, during the Super Six tournament, DeGale's countryman Carl Froch struggled to win a controversial decision over Dirrell, which is still his only career defeat. [Click Here To Read More]

A lot of fans believe in DeGale and think he'll win but I'm not one of them. Dirrell is the overall better boxer and should be too good and beat DeGale.

the second half is where dirrell will surely be the stronger of the two, when has degale gone 12 rounds against a high calibre opponent, wilcewski was hard graft for degale, so was even mohamedi, and lets not forget georgy groves, is groves even near the same level as dirrell? Ive a feeling dirrell could step it up a level if he had to. He looked good sparing j'leon love anyway, i can see his straight right doing damage later on.

Dirrell stank up the joint against Froch and his fans are still crying about it now because he didn't get the decision. Maybe those tactics would work for him at home but I'm hoping Chunky catches up with him and takes it out of the judges hands.

Close fight but I'd love for DeGeale to catch him and put him down.

This is going to be a good fight. Lets see if Dirrell still has it

Edwin Rodriguez vs Craig Baker on the undercard should be good too.

Logic says Dirrell by decision, but for some reason I'm going with DeGale on this one. I think he'll hurt/drop him and make himself look better than many people previously gave him credit for.
