Guys who are new to the sport and have grown up with the cult of mayweather think good defence = good boxing and think good offence = brawling.

And of course there are the deepest lows, user who make it out as a race war.
Yea it is a lack of appreciation of the sport.

Boxing is making your abilities work best for you, everyone has different strengths and weaknesses, and making those work. You watch enough boxing you start to see that stuff, but only if you really appreciate how difficult boxing is.

That is not something dude just get from day 1 though, and usually it is a long journey to that sort of enlightenment.

I don't know I think being a Floyd fan is considered worse.

Being a Floyd fan is the most shameful thing you can be it seems.

They can be labelled as "snobs"

But in reality it's to do with the one fanbase that is Floyd fans

That's the main reason. A huge number of people spend more time typing angry comments about boxing than actually watching it. Especially fights from the 70s, 80s, and early 90s. There are guys who spend 8 hours a day on this forum who think Cornelius Boza Edwards is a type of vegetable.
Great Post....I can always dig me some CBE that dude was all-action.

I find it comical when people who obviously have never set foot IN A BOXING GYM let alone a boxing ring have the nerve to call boxers who move and use their IQ to achieve victory "runners" or "cowards". That's much worse than enjoying a good scrap.

Maybe its me but usually I find the arguements come when a great exciting fight happens and people start talking like the fighters are now world beaters who can snatch up the top technicians in the division when that is rarely the case. There are skill levels to the game so when people watch a ex. provodnicov fight and then tell me he would trash someone like floyd in the ring thats when the arguements start happening. I love most of the styles in the ring but some fans like to pretend face first fighting is the end all be all (of course the opposite is true as well and people pretend outboxers are the best etc)
