  • Comments Thread For: Mosley Not in Agreement With Mayweather's TBE Stance

For the better part of two years, Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) has been calling himself "the best ever" or "TBE" for short.

Mayweather's position of calling himself TBE has generated criticism from experts and fighters - and that criticism exploded when Mayweather explained why heavyweight legend Muhammad Ali was a level below.

Mayweather is planning to retire at the end of year, when he returns to action on September 12th. He wants to retire undefeated at 49-0, and strongly feels he will walk away with the label of TBE.

I'm not disagreeing with Mosley about Floyd being TBE (I think it's too hard to quantify), but it seems to me that a lot of people forget that Floyd started at 130. The way some people talk you'd think he's been a ww his whole career so why can't he move up to middleweight? Because he's not really big enough.

Mosley is butt-hurt from his whoopping by mayweather. everybody expecially the fighters that money has defeated have an excuse to not give him deserving credit. mayweather was taught every aspect of the sport coupled with his athletic talent. get over it mosley.

Yeah theres plenty of reasons for Floyd not being TBE, but weight jumping isnt one of them. Strange reasoning from Shane Mosley.

Floyds own dad said he could be a chmpion at 160. His dad is saying he could beat golovkin. He didn't give his fight night weight against pacquiao. He looked like a monster against pacquiao and even looked bigger than maidana and canelo. Mayweather fights alot better at 154. I dont believe fir a second hes not big enough to go to 160. But he doesn't have to because ggg is willing to go down to 154 and Floyd still wont take a weight drained ggg. He couldn't convincingly beat a one armed pacquiao. Pacquiao deserves the rematch, he fought with one arm. I'm convinced a healthy pacquiao would easily beat mayweather

I TOTALLY understand Shane not believing Floyd is TBE, but NOT for the reasons he gave. When your reasons make ZERO sense (weight classes), it makes you look like a hater...

Shane has taken one too many punches to the noggin. Yes, TBE isn't TBE, but he hasn't moved up in weight?

Does Mosley realize that Floyd already traveled fight weight classes? What's wrong with ppl? Man, how time fly....i remember when Mosley ducked Zab Judah by skipping 140, and Zab went nuts chasing after him...lol.

I also don't think Mayweather is TBE but Mosley's reason is nonsense, Floyd didn't start his career at Welter and he has been through 5 weight classes and been the lineal champ in 4 of them I believe.

I hear people calling for Floyd to go to 160.... he's 5'8 and never weighed in more than 151 on fight night, does that sound like someone who should be competing with guys that weight 170+ on fight night. The double standards sheesh.

I don't think it is about weight, it is more about challenging yourself to the max, which I think he has a point on. Floyd really hasn't got that fight where everyone is saying 'you can't win that fight'. I think he needs a fight where people are thinking that he is going get beat soundly, like Leonard-Hagler, to really put himself in the equation of TBE.

Mosley took on a prime Winky Wright at 154 twice, a horrendous match up for him and even though he lost at least we can see kind of where the ceiling of his talents were. Floyd has a great resume, but I am not sure he has challenged himself to that kind of level, so I agree with Shane as of today he can't realistically be in the argument. That could change though.
