He's fortunate to being a true middleweight fighting in a division that's been dominated the last few years by blown up welterweights.
i stopped watching the fight game. 30 minutes dedicated to push HBO fighters and talk trash about Haymon

Bro they weren't champions when he fought them. And I doubt he is getting a champion to fight him in his next fight. Rubio is not top 10 at all. Murray was a good fighter I'll give you that

Hmm, that's because that is their JOB. What do you expect? To not promote him and treat him like just another fighter.

        They're in the promoting business.

point is just cause theyre top guys in the division it doesnt mean theyre notable/good.

Crawford beat the top 3 lightweights last year but the lightweight division is arguably the worst in boxing with the middleweight division not far behind

Oh so he's not great? Let me guess because he doesn't spoil fights and avoid as much contact and do only enough to win? I don't think people realize how tough it is at this level to be stopping guys. GGG is not fighting bums anymore. He is fighting top ten guys. Find me a champ today that would knock anybody out in the top ten of their weight class. Maybe Kovalev? And don't give me that crap about the division being weak.

I took it the complete opposite. Max was saying, "Hey guys.. wait a minute. GGG might be taking damage here!!!"

It sounded like he was preparing the audience for a possible upset.

Hence, the point of this thread. They've done an incredible job hyping up an unproven fighter, I just wish they could do the same for other fighters under their stable with far more talent. I'd love to see Rigo and Ward become familiar with the casuals.

There's no denying he's a good fighter though, and NATAS is right the reason they're promoting Golovkin so much rather than Kovalev is because he's way more likeable. He smiles and all the non boxing fans are like "boxers DO have hearts ".

Honestly I think he has good chance of taking down Ward too.

Man your bias is deplorable. This coming from a guy that's known you over 8 years. It's pretty disappointing to see.

The division is weak, you'd be a fool not accept that as truth. That last true middle weight champions we've had has been Jermaine Taylor and Kelly Pavlik. The most popular of the division in the past 5 years or so has been blown up welterweights. Martinez, Paul Williams, Miguel Cotto etc... These are guys GGG would crush based soley on his size.
