Here is one reason why I said what I said. Floyd didn't really want the fight with Mosley in 1999 and Floyd's response for 2006 speaks for themselves. Floyd didn't want to wait another month or two to fight Mosley and instead wanted to fight Baldomir. Remember that Floyd was ready to retire. Who would you want on your resume, Baldomir or Mosley?

Q: After you challenged him, a week later, Mayweather wished you good luck in your career which seemed to indicate he’s not interested in fighting you. He also mentioned that he challenged you twice, and he claims that you turned him down back in 1999 and again in 2006. Did you really turn him down?

A: Like I said, he’s really a liar. He likes to lie a lot. In 1999 there’s a film where he’s fighting in Michigan when he was fighting at 130 and I was fighting at 135, and I asked him, like when HBO does the prefight ****ysts talk to the fighters before they fight. I talked to him, and hopefully it’s recorded somewhere—I think it was on FX—I asked him, “Are you planning on coming up to lightweight to fight me?” And he said, “No,” He had no intention of coming to lightweight to fight me, he wanted t beat Carlos Monzon’s record. He didn’t want to come to lightweight. That’s when I jumped from lightweight to welterweight to fight Oscar De La Hoya. That was the first incident that he’s talking about, so he turned me down in 1999.

Now, the other time he’s talking about is when I fought three times—one, two, three, back-to-back-to-back—and they tried to rush me to fight him right away, like two or three months later. I said, give me a month, and we’ll do it like, I think it was in January—I said, “We’ll do it in January”. They wanted to do it in like November or December, and I said, “Give me a month and we’ll do it in January or February.” They didn’t want to do that. So they chose to fight Oscar De La Hoya. I said, “Go ahead and fight Oscar, and if you beat Oscar, then let’s get busy. Let’s do this.” He beat Oscar—he didn’t want to fight me.

He’s been turning me down. I hate when he continues to say, “Oh, he turned me down because of a tooth ache”. Yeah. I got head butted in that fight that and my tooth was loose that night. They asked me to fight Mayweather and I said, “Give me an extra month, and I’ll fight him.” He didn’t want to fight me, which was cool. He could go and fight Oscar because that’s more money. Okay. That’s cool, but after that fight if you win—fight me. He didn’t want to do that. He chose to retire or fight somebody else. I’m getting tired of that lie! They need to wipe that lie out of there. The reporters and stuff, they keep saying it, so that lie needs to be talked about."

Srsly why cant some pacfans just accept already
Floyd didn't do much in many rounds and you know it. Lederman gave an early round to Manny. I know of at least 1 more round where you can give it to Manny and you have a draw.

Just pretend that Manny was FLoyd. You would have not 2 but 5 rounds where you can then give Manny. Like I said and you know. There were close rounds and some that Manny should have gotten. Judges gave them to Floyd. Give 2 to Manny and its a draw.

mayweather clear rounds was 1,2,5,11,12... Pacquaios were 4,6,9,10 the others are really hard to separate so yes pacquaio could easily have drawn the fight or even won by one round......a very very close fight to score ....for me pacquaio tried to win the fight..floyd was spoiling far to much in the fight

Actually round 2, Ledderman gave it to Manny and round 12 could have gone to Manny as well. Floyd was hitting air or gloves often and Manny had a couple of clean good shots in(Floyd did not). Floyd was just running around and buying time. Hard to give him that round.

.... but you are right. It was a close fight either way.

I love how this is being posted in 2015, when mayweather fought mosley he was p4p number 3 coming off the biggest win since de la hoya by stopping margarito. The fight was bigger than it would have been at any other point. And no, mosley never said "oh give me a month for my tooth ache" he said he wanted to spend time with his family as well as the tooth ache, he gave no indication he wanted fight floyd until around the time the de la hoya fight was signed and sealed.

Doesnt matter anyway, mosley lost in 2010 and thats that. after months of everyone on here betting sigs and entire points that mayweather would never fight him, low and behold he fought him.

Skip bayless had pacquiao winning 7 rds to 5. I've watched this fight over and over and I believe it was a draw. At first I thought mayweather won, but I realized the commentators were being very biased so I turned the volume off and carefully watched each exchange and rewinded when it was hard to see. Manny definitely had the harder cleaner shots at fight, and alot of punches that looked like mayweather landed at first glance, many of them were blocked by mannys gloves, including the one echange where mayweather seemed to have knocked pacquiao into the ropes, when reality pacquiao had blocked it. The compubox was definitely b.s.

I've watched the fight several times and I just can't see a scenario where Manny even comes close to getting a draw, letting alone winning. It seems Pacquiao fans/ Floyd detractors are mostly ignoring Floyd's jabs in the center of the ring and only focusing on the power punching of both fighters. And since Manny seemed to throw more power punches they think that is enough to win.

I even had an argument with a Pacquiao fan where he claimed Floyd's jabs didn't count because these guys aren't fighting in the Olympics. I'm literally shocked at the ignorance of many of these so called boxing fans.

Manny won 3 rounds, maybe 4 if we want to be generous. Floyd controlled the pace of the fight, was more successful when they boxed in the center of the ring and was able to counter Manny many times while on the ropes.

I think many disagree with you Mosley was too strong for anyone at 130 or 135 Floyd was like little kid who begs for candy back than. If a wash up Mosley almost put him out can you imagine what a prime steroid out Mosley would have done. You have to remember back than Mosley was all juiced on EPO and if you think Castillo was all over Floyd can imagine how Mosley would have been he would prison ****d Floyd back than.
