I think most people didn't get the meaning of Canelo's comment, he said
I would have pulled out. As in himself, not as in Manny.
He also said that Manny wouldn't and couldn't because had he done it, that "fight" would never ever had taken place, obviously that would have been the perfect excuse for Floyd to blame Manny for it not happening.
Bottom line, I believe what he meant is that he would have pulled out, because he knew the fight would eventually take place anyways, because he was very young and it wasn't a fight that everyone was expecting to be made for years and years. But Manny's pulling out of it, would have meant a total financial disaster for everybody involved, specially Manny himself, and I'm sure the fight would never have happened. So Manny risked losing his belt, and some of his legacy, but made sure his financial security would be taken care of for good. Right choice. Family comes first. He has taken care of that financially now, and people now knows that he was far from his 100% in that so-called "fight" yet Manny still had Floyd running, acting cowardly and holding throughout the fight, even with an injured arm.
The after-fight press conference was a huge mistake, because Manny sounded pathetic and like a sore loser. He should have just said something like "yes I accept that he was better than me in this fight I will give him credit for that, but I wasn't at my 100%. After I have my right shoulder surgery, my team and I will disclose all the details of my injury and will try to negotiate a rematch".
Anyways, I believe people won't be as ****** this time, in case there's a rematch, to pay a fortune for a boring action-less fight, because wherever Mayweather is involved as a "fighter", a clinch-running-acting cowardly snooze fest is always guaranteed.Last edited by sterilizer; 05-16-2015, 06:06 PM.
