  • Well, Floyd is free to take on GGG. Who else can take Floyd under 160?

Honestly at 154, I'm not sure even GGG can beat Floyd. But I'd love to see it. He'd have a shot, even after dropping weight that he probably can't afford to.

    Khan could never beat Floyd.

    • Mayweather's "boring style" has the #1,#2, and #3 PPVS in the history of boxing. Where are the face first brawling so-called "exciting" fighters on this list? This guy doesnt even want to fight #2 P4P. When Floyd was 1division below canelo, people called him a coward for not fighting Canelo....Be consistent with your criticisms.

Great fighters like Floyd, Pac, Chavez, Sweet Pea, Leonard, Duran, Robinson and Armstrong are where they are because they took risks. Since GGG appears to be the next one headed towards greatness I want to see him take risks. Unfortunately his fan boys don't have as much confidence in his abilities as I do.
What risks were available to him that GGG didn't take? The difference with those guys is they had better options available to them sooner, most of them were being pushed from the very start. GGG was d1cked around for much of his career fighting out of Germany and when he finally got with K2 and brought over to the states/HBO he's had an incredibly tough time securing big names.

He's more like a Marvin Hagler or B-Hop in the sense that they had to grind for years before getting big names. B-Hop was 36 years old before he finally got his break out performance against Trinidad, after years of holding onto a title, cleaning out the division but being denied the chance to unify against the other title holders due to boxing politics. Same scenario here for Golovkin. He's trying to fight the big names, they haven't been willing to fight him yet. I'm sure there were those that said B-Hop should move up in weight and challenge himself MUCH sooner than he did (age 41). In hindsight, thank god he didn't. Legendary career.

Why? What's going to happen if he keeps Floyd's name in his mouth, is Floyd going to fight him and make him shut up?
The reason GGG is saying floyd's name is to draw more attention to his fights because he's fighting another tomatoe can.....there is Nothing to gain by fighting him anyway, he brings a big pile of dog crap to the table.....the guy hasn't beat anyone(resume is weak as ****) he's not a big enough name to be going up in weigh, the excuses will be there once Floyd dominates him(weight drained) and he's and HBO fighter. What we have here is a fighter blowing smoke to hype up his weak sparring sessions.....nothing more.

          • When I hear Golovkin fans talk all I hear is that ****** Lego Movie song.

...i'm amazed that I have to even say this. but the vast majority of people buy Floyd fights to watch him lose. He's undefeated and a very polarizing public figure, so people will continue to buy the PPVs hoping that he loses.

Floyd's technical style of boxing can certainly be appreciated, but to call it exciting, or thrilling...is at least misleading, and at worst, a flat out lie.

I'm amazed that someone has to point out to you that it is irrelevant why people buy his fights, the fact is that they do - consistently. People know what they are going to see before they buy.
