I guess you only watch HBO. Showtime epitomizes this now, Garcia-Salka, Wilder-Molina coming up, LSC Vs nobodies/salesmen. This never ends. You wanna call out what's wrong with networks & boxing then do it for all of them.

That indeed is the definition of a casual fan.

This however could apply to any number of hardcore fans, referees, judges and commentators.

I congratulate you on your humility. It's very Socratic. It's not something you come across very often especially on the internet where wikipedia is but a click away and everyone is an expert.

Yes, showtime has begun to follow suit with certain fights. They have not used all of their platforms to sell fans on "excitement". they have not promoted an "anti gatti list". they have not banned boxers from their network.

              They are not equal.

Most of the ATG's would have been classed as "****** youth" and were supported by "****** youth" you ******.

Who cares if they're equal or not? People pay for HBO/Sho & they lose out when networks put up good fighters against absolute nobodies/no skill.

The sport loses its integrity when winning is disincentivized and skills are devalued. Showtime is not doing that because they didn't have fighters signed to deals like Donaire and Manny that got embarrassed by great boxers.

I do agree with your post -the danny/salka fights hurt as much as kov/caparello and canelo/Kirkland-yet these fights get high ratings because a fan favorite is poised to get an easy KO win.

High ratings mean this is what they are giving us, especially HBO as they are trying to solidify their spot as the premier boxing network.
