Comments Thread For: Cotto Eyes Canelo Fight, But Won't Be Pressured

WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) has confirmed that there is a preliminary agreement to face Mexican star Saul "Canelo" Alvarez before the end of the year. Cotto must first overcome Daniel Geale (31-3, 16KOs) on June 6th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Canelo did has part last Saturday night, when he knocked out James Kirkland in the third round.

There have been attempts to make this fight in the past without success. This time the situation is different and there seems to be motivation on both sides to get a deal done.

Stay focused on the task at hand and don't think about that fight looming in the Fall. Like a true pro.

Cotto doesn't have a choice. HBO wouldn't air his upcoming fight unless he signed an offer sheet to fight Canelo. He can try and pull out of the fight or stall to kill the fight again but HBO will step in and make it happen. Canelo will beat this older version of Cotto easily.

Like i said if Canelo wants Cotto next he has to realize hes not the A-side and it wont happen in Sept. Cotto wont wait around either if Canelo decides to go on without him.
