He has heart. But unfortunately just doesn't have any power to keep Verdejo off off him, and doesn't possess the boxing ability to outbox skilled opponents.

We're talking Verdejo though. You're not going to run into guys that physically imposing that often at 135. Crawford is gone and Verdejo won't spend his career there. I think Najera is young enough to develop quite nicely under the right tutelage. Maybe not a star but he can be at the least a good contender
