Cotto isn't fighting Fraud next for 2 reasons
Cotto signed an agreement stating HBO was only willing to put on the Cotto-Geale fight if he fought a major fight (Canelo) in the fall. Cotto and Roc Nation would likely get their asses sued bad if they jumped ship to Showtime and fought Fraud.
Haymon and Jay Z don't like each other
Fl0moes can just give it up already
In the article below. Cotto's adviser states that Al Haymon remains open for Cotto to face his fighters. NOTE: This being after Cotto signed with Jay-Z.

The way I see it they need Cotto waaaaay more than he needs them. He brings the money. Cotto can sell a rematch with Floyd at 160 and make mad money. It would do at least around 1.5 mil and you know he aint doing those numbers with Canelo, his last PPV bombed.Comment

Really? Cotto is not their fighter, he wants to fight their fighter and their condition was that he have to fight their other fighter as well. If he no longer wants to fight Geale then the condition of fighting Canelo is mute, they don't have any money invested in Cotto to any degree so they lose nothing, there would be nothing to recoupe. He really has no obligation to them unless he fights Geale.

Goddamn you're dumb. Just stfu already.
Let me put it into words you can understand
Cotto already signed a contract with HBO. In that contract the terms were that if he fought Geale, HBO would televise it under the condition that Cotto would fight a major fight for them in the fall. That major fight is Canelo.
So yes he's pretty much on a two fight contract with them.
If he chose to break that contract he would be taken to the cleaners by HBO and their lawyers.Comment

That's my question though, what could they possibly do? What could they sue him for? It sounds like they didn't even want him to fight Geale in the first place. If he were to pull out of the fight it would be Geale and his staff that would be owed compensation, not HBO. Cotto is obligated to Geale since he is invested monetarily in the fight. HBO doesn't have to air it, it can go un-televised all the same, I don't see how they have any recourse if Cotto pulls out.Comment
