It was way back in 2011 and GGG did not almost knock off Canelo's head, he took it easy on him. Just read the ring article and watch the video with it and you will see what happened, on that one day anyways. Golovkin had just come to the US and was not trying to show off. But by all accounts, GGG was on an entirely different level when compared to everyone else at Big Bear and at Wildcard as well. And that included Angulo, Quillin, Chavez Jr and Canelo

And he still is.

it was just rubio..... Canelo has most of mexicos attention and a good portion of the mexican american public. Watch.... Canelo will fight Cotto next and beat the **** out of him and canelos popularity will grow even more with la raza because he beat a PR in a classic fight.... then he will fight somebody else at a catch weight of 156-159 to get adjusted closer to the weight and then we will have a great fight at 160 in september 2016.
My boy Canelo has balls and is not scared of **** like a true mexican champ. he will fight but is team allow it? I think yes in that timeline. I think canelo will beat down GGG. GGG has been facing tomato cans and taxi drivers.. and in the other hand Canelo has pretty much been facing the best near his made up division. Canelo will make him fight backing up and he wont know how to fight...... Canelo is no bish he is kinda like my other boy Marquez if he gets hit clean and hard he will come back with is own artillery. just my opinion that im sticking with until the fight happens and yeah im drunk

monroe jr has a similar style to lara and he's in his division, not a junior. everyone knew canelo would get a controversial decision over lara because of the way lara fights. that's why it wasn't a risk at all. as long as canelo came forward he would get the decision because lara "ran too much"
