Forget skill wise at this point, isn't it fair to say that Canelo is going to play a huge part in post Floyd/Pac boxing?

This blog pot barely mentions Mayweather/Pacquaio, which is the only reason why this fight drew so many views. On his own, Alvarez has never drawn more than 1.3 million views.

He is and he already fought floyd.

He will be the next cash cow if he keeps winning.

I thought the only reason they showed the Pac vs Floyd fight was because the undercard bout got cancelled?

They really should've done a breakout on the numbers before running with Alvarez/Kirkland being 2.1mill. Too many factors at play here with giving an average.

My sentiments exactly. I think losing to Floyd was the best thing that could've happened to him. You can tell he's learned a helluva lot from that loss

The Mayweather/Pacquaio replay was going to be shown anyway. Why do you think Oscar picked May 9 for the Alvarez/Kirkland fight? Oscar knew that the fight would draw big ratings due to the replay.

To my understanding, the fight was being replayed on SHO, not HBO but since the undercard fight got cancelled they showed the fight.

And Oscar moved Canelo's fight to the 9th because May-Pac took the 2nd. Canelo was initially scheduled to fight on the 2nd

I seriously doubt after all the bad press it got many people would of tuned in to watch the replay of the forgettable fight of the century. And if they did they probably would of changed the channel after the 6th rd.
Many wanted to see it again. Maybe sober or just because. I have seen it 5 times already.

Also i know a few that this was the first time they saw it. It helped ALOT. but hey its all good for the sport.
