Maidana turns down Thurman = Ducking, but Thurman turns down Porter = no comment?

how come no one is talking about the fact that we were all hearing it was going to be Thurman/Porter on June the 20th? There's a video on youtube of Thurman saying that he was offered to fight in June (presumably this date against Porter) but asked Al and his handlers to let him have a little more time off, maybe to return in July. Think he really isn't ready to fight in June, or was that decision made when he saw who the opponent was going to be?

word is Broner doesn't really want the Porter fight (can't blame him...not his weight class), but NBC is expecting a big fight for that date. And since Thurman said no, someone else has to fill the spot.

Go ahead Thurman fans...make your case.

possible, but I think Khan is more marketable for that spot. Still, I can definitely see Al wanting both guys free just in case. Just think the whole "you better not duck me, thun" stuff is ridiculous. This guy has turned down fights himself, but no one ever turns that back on him. Maidana never "ducked" him. Thurman was relatively unknown at the time, and Chino got a more lucrative offer. Has nothing to do with being afraid of Thurman.

he's still recovering from the injury he suffered in the Guerrero fight. Look at his recent interviews he still has the blood trapped underneath his eyes

The Hematoma from the headbutt from Guerrero is likely the reason why it is taking a little longer for them to announce his next fight. He was rushed to the Hospital after that fight because he felt Sick, probably just being very cautious.

I seriously doubt Thurman is "DUCKING PORTER!" out of some type of fear of Porter.

He is a fraud being built up as something he isn't by the American public. First he totally ignores that Erislandy Lara offered to drop down and fight him and pretended he didn't hear a thing now he has a bruise. Big wow fighters are always bruised/cut/sore.

Reality is both guys are a problem for the overrated Contime so they'll swerve them and he will come back against another fighter who is stylistically of zero threat.

He is just a pretender, a good amateur being forced under everyones nose by the American media. There is nothing special about this guy, nothing.

lol he obviously wasn't offered the Porter fight in June, he has always openly said he wants to fight Porter. Porter's team PUBLICLY turned down Thurman last year though.
