For some odd reason it makes more sense to some people now a days to go overboard with complaints.

Also its just easier to blame the winner for how they won instead talking about what the loser should have done to not allow the winner to do what they did.

I guess this is what you get from the generation of people where everybody gets a trophy just for showing up no matter what you do in said sport.

That isn't the only way to do it, and I think clinching can be effective on Golovkin who like most power punchers wants his space.

It is just something that needs to be worked on though, if there is a proliferation of holding then guys needs to become adept at dealing with that strategy. A guy can't just expect to go in the ring and work that out against a guy who has honed their style unless they have practiced doing it. It is not something sexy to work on (like throwing pretty lead hand hooks), but those are aspects I find lacking from a lot of guys.

It is like anything else in sports things flow back and forth sometimes defense having an advantage and sometime offense getting ahead. It is time for offensive guys to get off their ass and solve the issue.

Hitting in the back of the head is dangerous that can end a fighter's life or put him in a coma, that's why it's illegal and cheating.

OP, you do not teach them to cheat, you do not teach them something illegal, you do not resist what the public wants because boxing is after all still a business, and most importantly you do not fix a wrong decision with another wrong decision, instead, you adjust/change the rule of the game to make it better; -- to make it closer to what the public envisioned it to be.

Which is why the best solution is to encourage both fighters to practice the real modern day sweet science which is: "hit and not get hit and be in position to hit again." this is important, because the modern day sweet science discourages those hit and runners/huggers which are the remnants of old traditional sweet science practitioners which is: "hit and not get hit only", which have evidently contributed greatly in hurting the business of boxing as a whole due to the casual fans perception of that style as boring and yet still winning. Casual fans don't understand this so called traditional sweet science which the purists is so fond of, I'm not saying it's time to phase it out, but, instead, it's time to upgrade it, make it better and make it closely appealing to what the casual fans envisioned it to be. It is very important, because casual fans is the engine of the sport, they dictate the direction of where the business or boxing is headed. You give them what they want, and you will reap what you sow.

Sorry but if his name was not Floyd, they would have been giving him hard warnings and deductions.

Also, just go back a month or so and see how many rounds Peterson did for moving around the ring in the early rounds? Garcia didn't connect much early but because he was the aggressor, he got the benefit of the doubt. Except for a few rounds, Peterson actually did relatively better than Floyd yet judges gave him 0 credit for those "boxing" rounds.

Exactly what you said...funny how no one complained or complains to this day how Ali used EXCESSIVE clinching along with willie Pep who many consider the greatest defensive fighter ever but who has the same style defense practically as the one Wlad Klitchko uses of clinchin and turning his opponent and sometime leaning on them ,when mostly he throws a one two combo and clinches hes no different....even Lennox Clinched a lot,no one says anything...but Wlad and Floyd get the bad rap?
