Comments Thread For: PBC on CBS Doubleheader Sees Slight Ratings Dip

There’s a chance that the May 9 edition of Premier Boxing Champions on CBS can improve its ratings, but early returns have the Saturday afternoon televised doubleheader pulling in a 0.9 overnight rating and roughly 1.4 million viewers, according to first-round numbers from Nielsen Media Research.

The overnight rating for the May 9 card from Hidalgo, Texas is slightly down from the April 4 premiere of PBC on CBS, which drew a 1.1 overnight rating and over 1.6 million viewers. Adonis Stevenson topped the April 4 show, successfully defending his World light heavyweight championship with a 12-round win over Sakio Bika, in a bout sorely lacking sustained action.

The fighters who stink the joint out need pay cuts and less air time. Getn tired of all these guys who try to be conservative like Mayweather. prime example: Ishe Smith with that generic @$$ philly shell, hes a poser.

People missed on two pretty good fights. The Bantamweight Title fight was a goodie.

Yup! Saturday was a good day. Nelo's KO of Kirk was the icing on the cake.

That main event between burns and Figueroa was a **** show. Between lawerence cole pulling his usual garbage, and Figueroa has to have the ugliest style in the game today, its so sloppy, its a level above bum fights. And for all these stats where he landed all these power shots the guy never hurt Burns. Also it was pretty sketchy how during the telecast i didnt hear them once mention Figueroa coming in over weight.

TERRIBLE numbers. Nobody wants to see any Haymon fights after watching his star "fighter" run and hug his way to a hometown decision on May 2 and Danny "Gift" Garcias similar heist. No more support for Haymon after these capers. PBC - Predictable Boring Crap.

It did better than expected given that it was a Saturday matinee card.
