It was 50/50 before that and Manny was already a big PPV attraction in 2012. Can't compare to pre-Oscar Floyd.
What I remember is you Floyd fans agreeing that Manny deserved the $40 million. You all went along with that charade. If there was pressure from all sides (including his fans) perhaps Floyd would have seen the light.
Manny was a big star (still is), he was never as big as Floyd so him asking for 50/50 is just like Floyd asking for 40 million something that would not get accepted. Which is where that conversation ended, but there is a lot of room between those two places to work a deal, especially in a record breaking scenario (which is still an unkwn at that point).
Manny wanted his piece nothing wrong with that and you never accept an opening offer (which was always my stance). There was a deal to be made, and I can't see Manny doing worse than what he ended up getting as a percentage. If he could have worked out a deal for 45% at that point did he or did he not make a mistake?
Maybe if Manny's fans would not have bought his bull**** maybe he would have cared about the people he claims to care about. Floyd has never been one to be accused of really caring what the fans think.Comment

Amazing how Mayweather fans still believe to this day that his flat $40 million offer is better.Comment

Like I said the other day, most people who bought the ppv didn't it buy for floyd.
They bought it because they thought pacquiao could beat floyd or pacquiao had the best chance of beating floyd.Comment

You statement is ******edthe irs was already paid off prior to the fight.......poochiao still owes the irs/bir hundreds of millions of dollars to the states and his own country.....arum and kcontz will definately **** him taking 25%+ each. i'd be suprised to see #48 walk away with more than 20-25 million.Comment

The internet is back up in PI? Get a grip man, you're losing your mind over #48 getting embarrassed.I blame myself for even trying engage with them on any level. It's essentially a futile exercise. I mean, let's sum up some of these responses....
"Hmm, salty tears. Butt-hurt tears. My guy won. Look, he mad"
"Hmmm, you owned yourself. Self-contradictory".
"Hmm, all those tickets sold mean there is no way Floyd isn't the p4p a superstar entertainer".
"Hmmm, racist".
Lol. There is no way I'm going to sit back and let these people try to deny that Mayweather isn't a gigantic bore in the ring. Worst PPV star ever. A pure marketing gimmick, who exploits the boxing rules to stifle the **** out of a boxing fight - then has his fans blame the opponent for not making his ass less boring
Duran, Leonard, Hearns, De La Hoya, Trinidad, Pacquaio were/are pure entertainers. Excitement was woven into the style, that's what made them great, that's what makes their fightography so brilliant and worth revisiting again and again.
These dudes in this thread are in serious denial. The Fight of the Century was a complete disaster, the whole world were ****ting on our sport and but in their world, Floyd won and made lots of money, and so everything was OK.
For once, the casuals are right. That fight was an embarrassment.
I said it before the fight (and it shouldn't be hard to find in my posting history) - but when you rely on Floyd Mayweather to come through with an entertaining event, you are asking for trouble.Comment
