I've seen about a dozen posts on this thread, about glass jawed, porcelain chinned etc etc kirkland.

Its like some self perpetuating urban myth, there is some medium ground between having a granite chin and a glass jaw. He may not have the best chin but the right uppercut previous to the KO was worthy of finishing a fight itself. If he had a glass jaw that would have been game over right there, especially after the savage blows and body work already sustained.

Laugh all you want about about kirklands best win being against angulo. He may not have the best skill set but the fact he could **** is not up for debate, the couple of times he clipped lara he was on ***** street.

C a guy with a glass jaw survive a war of attrition with angulo?
Does anybody remember him walking through every clean shot Tapia hit him with?

Lets also not forget Joel Julio who was a hard puncher as well and how Kirkland just walked through those punches.

I'm not sure this fight tells us anything. The outcome was a foregone conclusion. I am curious to see how Cotto looks against Geale though. Is he really shopworn and the Martinez bout an illusion or has he found his second wind as he winds down his career?

Anyone can get caught cold in the first round, clinging to the ishida fight after Kirkland went toe to toe with angulo to justify "glass jaw" claims is either ignorant or you have an agenda.

FanBoys should really go to those other threads where they're still.reporting on last week's (cough) " event"...this one here is about 2 fighters who WENT AFTER IT and THRILLED over 30k in attendance and many more watching on TV....yes, we were THRILLED and NOT PUT TO SLEEP by that glorified and over-priced game of tag BullSh¡t from 5-2....

Good job by canelo. It's not a superfight, but, sometimes this kinds of fights gives us refreshing exciting feeling. Kirkland should be totally back with anne wolfe though, he looks like he lost a little bit of everything without wolfe. Not saying he's gonna beat, canelo, he will still lose even with anne by his side, but at the very least, he will give a better fight and impression with fans and it will be a good thing for him and the boxing world overall.

Well no one disputes that he has an iron chin. He doesn't. But to claim he has a glass chin or has an Amir Khan chin is beyond ridiculous.
He took shots from Canelo that would have put most guys on their arse. He took lots of punches from Glen Tapia, Joel Julio and Angulo. Won all 3 of those fights.
