Comments Thread For: Marquez: Pacquiao Should've Withdrew From Floyd Fight

Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez believes Manny Pacquiao should have postponed his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. to the fall.

Last Saturday night, Pacquiao lost a twelve round unanimous decision to Mayweather at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Marquez had fought Pacquiao four times, with their last ending with the Mexican veteran gaining a sixth round knockout victory. Like Pacquiao, he lost a twelve round decision to Mayweather in 2009.

Pacquiao revealed after the contest that he entered the match with an injured right shoulder. He attempted to get an anti-inflammatory shot before the contest, but his request was denied by the Nevada Commission.

Marquez said they already had a signed contract, but it was for May, not September.

The agreement was tenuous enough, Moonves had to be called in to save it at the last minute, if Pacquiao withdrew Mayweather would've just claimed the fantasy W and said "see I told you he didn't want the fight" because that's the sort of man he is.

Mayweather knew about the injury. I wouldn't be surprised if he paid off one of the sparring partners to lock arms on a swing just to bring the injury about--that's how much of a gutter-snipe Mayweather is. I'm sure he paid off the judges in the first Bradley fight, too.

It's kind of hard to postpone a fight beforehand due to a fake injury that was invented after losing.

Why would you withdraw if your not hurt?

Top Rank's lawyer already said he was fine and cleared to fight.

Let's all just he happy the circus act is over. Mayweather and his fans can bask in the glory and slowly let's phase these two jackals out of the sport. Boxing will be better for it. **** is inflated out of proportion because of these two guys.
