    Ricky Burns believes a win over undefeated Mexican-American Omar Figueroa in Texas on Saturday night will put him firmly back on the world title trail.

    Former two-weight world champion Burns meets the former WBC lightweight king in a mouth-watering clash at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo.

    Burns is looking to move back into world title contention having lost his WBO Lightweight crown to Terence Crawford and then slipped up against Montenegrin Dejan Zlaticanin in June.

    The Scotsman did bounce back by beating Alexandre Lepelley last time out and knows it is crucial for him to follow that success up with another win.

                              I know he's with Haymon now -- he quit GBP...
                              ... But I liked this kid beforehand...
                              ... I know he has brittle hands but he said he somehow solved the problem with the new Winning gloves he used in his last fight...

                                  Overhyped fighter, got a gift against Belmontes, struggled v Arakawa and did not look impressive v Estrada prior to KO. He'll beat Burns though who is not only shot but has looked worse the higher he has gone up in weight.

                                  Main complaint about Figueroa is that he's being sold as something he is not and getting praise when he has not fought the best in his division.

                                      Oh man ricky no. I'm scottish and ricky is a nice guy but I just want him to hand them up now. He can't hang at the top level anymore. Maybe he could when he was draining himself down to super feather but now the lightweight division is too heated for him. And while Figueroa is unlikely to do well at light welter he still has the chance of beating ricky
