Is Hinata Maruta the only one that is good. I just searched him up and they call him the Next Naoya Inoue. If you are already being compared to Naoya Inoue, That must mean he is something special.
There really isn't a lot of footage of Maruta, so we will have to wait til he turns pro later this year. Other than him I haven't seen a lot of Japanese amateurs, but let's wait for the 2015 world amateurs to see if any pop out.

Well I know that the AIBA became exclusive partners with Cuban boxers (Cuban boxing federation), this may not allow them to go professionals. However, I'm not 100% informed on that situation.

The team to look out for this Olympics is team Kazakhstan for sure!! Check out Zhanibek Alimkhanuly, Daniyar Yeleussinov, Merey Akshalov (not as talented as the first two, but still very good).
Last Olympics it was all about team Ukraine, this time it's Team Kazakhstan.

    Cuba is always great obviously.

I just saw some Padwork on a wall by Maruta. I am impressed. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do as he looks like he could be at the minimum of featherweight and can move up to welterweight. That is crazy, but he could be the next big thing. If he is the next big thing, he should be able to beat Oscar Valdez, Ivan Redkach, Mickey Bey, Felix Verdejo, Jose Ramirez. I am naming some of the up and coming fighters between 126, and 147. If you put him in there with Crawford, Lomachenko, Walters, and Broner, He will definitely get beat. But I have seen many surprises in boxing. But he is not beating Lomachenko at all, never, no matter what.

From what I've seen, a LOT of good Kazakh boxers are comin up... GGG broke down that door for that team.

But from what I've seen from the Cubans, I'm surprised that nobody has brought up Yosbany Veitia! He moves similarly to Rigondeaux. He's ranked #1 in his weight division by AIBA, and he went undefeated this season in WSB boxing. you also got some of the young vets like Yasniel Toledo, Julio Cesar la Cruz, and Erislandy Savon.

There's also a Moroccan boxer named Mohammed Rabii who pretty talented. gritty style.

And there's a young teenaged kid from the U.S. team named Shakur Stevenson who many people consider a boxing prodigy. He reminds me of Sugar Ray Leonard. Than there's the female boxer Claressa Shields. She won gold in 2012 at 17 years of age, and I can't see anybody beating her soon. She hits hard as hell, and she has good defense.

My God... Savon would send a lot of boys straight to sleep!! On WSB, his knockouts are something crafted from Picasso's mindstate. . . It's crazy that Cuba has always had a heavyweight "answer" to the heavyweight stars in the U.S. Like how Teofilo Stevenson was Cuba's answer to Muhammad Ali and how Felix Savon was Cuba's answer to Mike Tyson. Erislandy is damn near like Cuba's answer to Deontay Wilder.... Except that Savon is more skilled than Wilder.

Team Kazakhstan are beast!! Hopefully some of them turn pro. I would love to see Zhanibek (would probably dominate 160-168) and Daniyar (154 maybe even 147) turn pro the most. But with fighters from the ex-soviet union you just don't know if they ever will, even though they could if they want. Hopefully they see how much success GGG is having and they would want some of it.

Well basically all of team Cuba is talented. But some of these guys would have to think before going pro because we all know how it's going for Cuban professionals right now. You need to have a watchable style (like Gamboa) cuz Cubans are unfortunately in a disadvantage since they don't have a lot of support. Robeisy Ramirez, if he could stay dedicated, would be a great pro. I really like Lazaro Alvarez' active style doesn't seem to sit down on his punches much but I would like to see him turn pro. Savon would be an awesome pro either at Heavy or Cruiser. Veitia probably wouldn't get a lot of love considering that he fights in the lower weight divisions. Iglesias, although very talented probably wouldn't make it, neither would Toledo imo.

I have to be honest, I haven't been to impressed with Shakur Stevenson, nice skills, but nothing that tells me he would dominate the top amateurs. He is only 17 tho. IMO he should stay amateur until the next olympics, at least. He will only be 22 by then anyway, might as well get more experience. he's had a lot of success at youth and junior level but hasn't fought at World Senior level yet, I don't think he'll be ready for these Olympics. Might not even qualify, especially since the qualification this time around is kinda crazy.

Yosbany Veitia would be somebody for the "boxing purists." It took me some "warming up" to Lazaro Alvarez, but I've noticed that it's damn near impossible to beat him midrange. I've noticed how Robeisy Ramirez disappeared from the Cuba Domadores. He's a talented, but conflicted kid... Probably wants to go str8 out pro, but that's such a hard decision to make for a Cuban. Personally, I think he can change pro boxing's view on the "pro Cuban fighter" since he likes to **** and boxed extremely well on the inside. Roniel Iglesias uses the same gritty style, and he's also a gold medalist. He's had some "hiccups" in this season on WSB. Seems like he "wasn't all there" for some of his fights. Yasniel Toledo has been stepping it up! He just beat the crap out of Sam Maxwell from England a few weeks back worse than Vasyl Lomachenko!

Yasniel Toledo. Gave Lomachenko a really tough fight the 2nd time they fought. Got silver in 2013 WC. He moved up to 64kg. I hope he turns pro after this Olympics, because he's getting up there in age.

Would Savon be Cuba's answer for Klitschko.

That is such a badass name. I hope he never loses.

Shakur Stevenson. The name sounds familiar. I may have posted about the guy once and completely forgot about him.
