Some of the responses in this thread show just how fickle and pathetic the fantards on here are.

Froch has had a great career and has literally fought everyone in his weight class, has given the fans so many great fights.

Yet all you read when he talks about retiring is "*** off then" or "he's scared of x, y an z".

That's why I'm so glad that boxers fight solely for money.

Froch has had a solid career , and I respect the fact that he knows he can't beat Ward and therefore has no interest in fighting him anymore . Most fans take issue with fighters knowing their limitations , but I don't .

Froch offered to fight Ward. I don't think either wanted the fight at this point. Ward was not going to come to England in his first fight on his Roc Nation contract to fight Froch. He admittedly wanted a soft touch.

                  Yep. +1.

                  He earned it.

The best part about May-Pac was for Froch walking around Vegas thinking he would never fight there unlike the guy he picks on.

In all seriousness this is the right time to retire. He was reconsidering Degale, but at this point James will absolutely batter Froch, so why retire after losing to an up and coming star and ruining the momentum. A lot like how Marquez should've called it quits right after Pacquiao KO.

I thought it was his home town of Nottingham that Ward was oppose to fighting in ?
