Chavez was exposed by Fonfara. He was just a plodding big man in a smaller man's division. he got a taste of what it was like for those who faced him at 160 When Fonfara pummeled him and made him do the stanky leg. 168 should be his division. But he is not elite and never will be.

Totally agree. The manor of his defeat is like the gift that keeps giving for me.

Chavez spent years plodding forward and bullying opponents at 160. He needs to get in the fat farm so he can do that again. His skills are mediocre as was exposed by Fonfara.

haters gonna hate; nothing new for NSB and the blogosphere

Chavez being back in the gym, especially this quickly after his fight, is a great thing, regardless of what you think about his actual skills.

Goosen's main focus now seems to be getting Chavez as fit as possible before starting any weight cut (Chavez seemed to rather comfortably cut 15 pounds for the Fonfara fight). If Chavez eats clean, and commits to training with the intensity that Goosen seems to want, he's going to work his body down into the 170's.

Doubt that he can still physically get down to middleweight, but Chavez Jr starting the weight cut from 175/176 gives him as reasonable a shot as any to get there, while also making him physically set at super middleweight (the division he's likely best suited for).

Were you one of the fans throwing beer cups at the ring because your idol got demolished?

Maybe they could do a sponsorship deal where they suck the munchies fat out of Jr's body and pump it into Kim Kardashian's arse. It would get big ratings and he wouldn't even have to fight anybody which is the only risk-free option he has really.
