  • Comments Thread For: WBA on The Andre Ward vs. Carl Froch Situation

The World Boxing Association Championships Committee made official several announcements related to the 168-pound division, regarding its super champion Andre Ward, its regular champion Carl Foch and the interim champion of the division Fedor Chudinov.

Ward (27-0, 14 KO) received the approval of a special permit for a non-title fight with Paul Smith.

Also, the WBA Championships Committee withdrew championship recognition of its 168-pound 'regular' champion Carl Froch due to the absence of defenses by the fighter.

Froch talks a lot but I have a feeling he won't take the opportunity against Ward. I can't entirely blame him either as it makes no sense at this point in his career. He should be looking for one or two money fights, not killing himself in world championship bouts.

      Good, Froch was too inactive.

I guess Ward's Mandatory is Russian Tomato can Fedor Chudinov. Everyone is a tomato can vs Ward. Even Kovalev is a Tomato can vs Ward.

        ??

Froch is stripped despite fighting more recently, yet Ward gets a special permit and holds onto his title.

I don't really get the WBA's logic on this. The funny thing is, Ward's fight isn't even at 168lbs.

@ Froch. His blatant ducking cost him both of his belts. Took a "vacation" just as the division got hot again.

I guess he's still winding down from knocking out George Groves in England at Wembley in front of 80K winning by KO in Wembley in front of 80K stopping him with one punch in front of 80K at Wembley in England vs. George Groves.

Chudinov is about to fight Sturm. Obviously you're just bull*****in with that last line.

Please don't refer to it as "80K", Sir Carl prefers the full "80,000" description.

Ward fans are ******ed Oaktown social parasites. The guy is a narcissistic primadonna. The WBA coddles him and can't keep their mouths off his ****.

Felix Sturm might become a potential big money opponent for Ward down the line, if he beats Chudinov.

So Froch defended his WBA regular belt in May of last year against Groves and gets stripped for inactivity and Ward hasn't fought since 2013 when he made an optional defence against someone I can't even remember and they strip Froch?! F*** YOU WBA!
