Comments Thread For: DeGale Views Dirrell's Brother Losing as Possible Gain

ARSENAL fan James DeGale wants to set up a glorious double by winning the world title a week before the Gunners contest the FA Cup final.

DeGale can make history by becoming the first British Olympic gold medallist to become a world champion when he fights Andre Dirrell for the vacant IBF super-middleweight title in Boston on May 23.

He then wants to parade his title around Wembley Stadium when holders Arsenal face Aston Villa a week later.

I'm looking forward very much to seeing how this turns out. DeGale has looked much better since opting for surgery to sort out that long running problem he had with abdominal muscle tears.

If he can cut the ring down and force Dirrel to exchange with him, I think he'll take that title.

Hope Degale can do it, defo agree the Ant Dirrell upset could be a good omen for him... Groves then just gotta beat Badou Jack and the big world title unification grudge domestic rematch is on! Eddie Hearn has provisionally booked every stadium in England for it and got his professional spray tan artist on stand-by for the big night

Not sure the Ant Dirrell fight will have any effect tbh. It'd be great to see Degale win though.

Closer the fight gets the more I favour Dirrell. Hope I'm wrong.

It can cause a bad vibe OR it can be used as motivation and add fuel to fire. However, either ways Degale we all know would be ready physically given he is with Jim McDonnell, the talent is there and so is Degale's health. It is all a matter of putting it all together against Andre Dirrell on fight night.
