Whitaker injured his shoulder in the ninth round (a broken clavicle). The fight was stopped at the end of the round because Whitaker couldn't lift his arm without severe pain. When the doctor touched his shoulder at the end of the round to check it, Whitaker damn near fell off the stool because he was in so much pain.

There is no way in hell a fighter could suffer an injury as severe as a torn rotator cuff and continue to fight. Pacquaio would have been wincing in pain every time he threw his right hand after the fourth round. There was no sign of distress to his right arm and he threw it over 200 times in the fight.

      It's all bulls...t!!!!
There is nothing to indicate that Pacquiao was injured in that fight.

They are attempting to justify a rematch, thats all.

Even if we assume Pac has a super human tolerance to pain and masked it (close to impossible already) , they would at least have iced it in the corner, to numb the pain.

        Nothing of this happened.

It seems Pac had an old injury , so his team (and promoter) decided that now was a good time to fix it, since it'll probably help Pac get a rematch, amongst other things.
Maybe his shoulder started to bother him during the fight, that's likely, he though wasn't a one armed fighter, in no way and form.
I have seen a lot of fighters suffer that injury.

        They stop throwing.

I work with some of the best, if not thee best Orthopedic Surgeons in Southern California from Cedar Sinai, Kerlan Jobe, SCOI and Saint Johns.

Before you pretend you know anything about Torn Rotator Cuff, I'll provide you with a little "Cliff Notes"

"Rotator cuff tears cause pain and weakness in the affected shoulder. In some cases, a rotator cuff may tear only partially. The shoulder may be painful, but you can still move the arm in a normal range of motion. In general, the larger the tear, the more weakness it causes."

He most likely had a minor tear that either started 2 1/2 weeks before the fight or prior to that. Having the procedure then and there would have delayed the fight for months to a year. That is why he was taking Toradol, it's a nonsterodial anti inflammatory drug that are used to treat moderate to severe pain for 5 DAYS or LESS. This is not for long term used.

He needed that shot to get him through the fight. He might have been taking Toradol for the past 2+ weeks. He might had even take Toradol a few days prior to the fight, which means he can probably throw some hooks with little discomfort and pain. But if you've ever taken any anti inflammatory drug, especially through injections. The most effective time would be 30-45 mins after the shot, you feel like your whole again until it slowly starts to fade away.

Sure, the theory on any subject is great.....

But in reality, if the injury is serious.....

I have seen a lot of fighters suffer that injury.

              They stop throwing.

It doesn't matter bud. Its the hypocrisy.

I could have brought up stuff more recently like CWs are to drain fighters but now its all good according to FLoyd fans. They don't bring it up anymore. Some Floyd fans then bring up things to deflect like you just did. Some had the courage to say that "2lbs CW for Canelo is different than for Cotto" to try to protect their hero Floyd.

                  • pac should've disclosed the injury prior to the fight for sure, pretty sure greed took over him this time tho...

pretty selfish move if you ask me, and arrogant..

Pac fakes a surgery and his next fight will be against a C-class fighter in an Asian country where they won't bother to subject him to a medical exam to determine if he actually ever had an injury to begin with. There is no comparison.:*******:
Read below. Floyd said he hurt his rotator cuff.

Floyd: "It was tough, my last (days of) training I hurt my rotator cuff. I wasn't able to use my jab and left wasn't as strong but I don't want to have any excuses like other champions. When they get hurt, they don't even come to show up to the fight. I get hurt, I come to fight to give the fans ....."

Larry Merchant: Was he much tougher than you anticipated? You after all said this was going to be an easy fight.

Floyd: You have to realize that I have a messed up arm. My arm was messed up but I have no excuses. I don't back down or turn down fights.

Larry Merchant: So it was a harder fight than anticipated?

Floyd: With one arm, yes. With one arm yes.
