iirc Robert Guererro had to get surgery a few years back for an old football injury in high school, so yeah, it happens

Pac will lose his next fight and the say that he re-injured the shoulder.........that btw was never injured to begin with. Marquez finished Pac.

If he had rotator cuff surgery, he will spend six to nine months in rehab and it will be at least a year befoe he can fight again. If he is oscheduled to return in 4-6 months, that means that the injury wasn't a rotator cuff injury and wasn't that serious.
In Pacs case he will be in rehab for 4-6mths and should be able to make a return to boxing in 9-12mths.
