He did it with Canelo and he did it with Pac. Is it effective?...Sure it is. Is it entertaining? For the most part no.
Lets take a look at his fight with Canelo. Was it one sided? Sure it was based on round by round scoring. The way many Floyd fans here were speaking the following day you would have though that someone who didn't see the fight missed the second coming of Floyd/Gatti when in reality it was far from. Analyzing round by round, Floyd won each round by landing a few more scoring punches in each round. Not hurtful or punishing blows, but scoring touch punches. Same thing with is fight against Pac. Never once did he hurt or have Pac in any sort of trouble. He won this fight by limiting Pac's offense with his defense while countering and landing a few more shots albeit not hard damaging blows in the rounds that he won.
Its like Floyd treats boxing like a game of flag football or 2-hand touch rather than full contact and has found a way to be the best at it. He turned a combat sport into a game of "tag you're it" and has mastered it.
I guess when you're labeled the best of your generation the bar is set a bit higher for you and rightfully so. Fight fans in general expect more from someone labeling themselves as TBE.
Hit and not get hit. Its the literal definition of the sweet science. You wouldve HATED several fighter throughout history.
It is not Floyds job to let Manny hit him. How long have you been a boxing fan? Do you not understand that?

I can guarantee you that if Floyd had a record of 44-4, he wouldn't even be a ppv fighter.
Hit and not get hit baby.
"Its called boxing not knock outs"-Winky
Love how you are upset Floyd doesnt fight like some blood thirsty face first idiot warrior.
Blame Pacquiao not Floyd.
"If he just stand still eh I can hit him" Manny really said that.

He had sensational performances like Genaro, gatti, Corrales (rip to all) where he didn't fight like this. He didn't fight like this against ODH or Hatton or Shane or Cotto.
If being undefeated was all it took, undefeated fighters that fight the style you suggest would be household names and stars just like Floyd. They are not.
Face it dude, Floyd's style appeals to people even if it doesn't to you.

I understand it. Am I a fan of his style? No. Do I respect his skills? Of course. I know what I'm looking at when I see him fight. Many casuals just see a guy who's scared to engage and/or get hit.
