Comments Thread For: Pacquiao vs. Brook: Arum, Hearn Discuss The Fight

IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (34-0, 23KOs) could be in the cards for Manny Pacquiao down the line. Brook returns on May 30th against Frankie Gavin at the O2 Arena in London. Pacquiao was in action last Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, where he lost a twelve round unanimous decision against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, says Brook is certainly an option for his fighter.

"Absolutely he could fight Pacquiao. I've never met Kell but I know Eddie very well and I've done business for years with Barry his father so they're good friends of mine," Arum said.

I'd rather a rematch next May followed by a Brook fight in October.

Brook can use his size and reach to beat Manny the same way mayweather did. Brook is no Chris Algieri.

Ha now that Floyd's done it everyone thinks they can pull it off. I hope most people betting money will think this way because then I can get odds on whatever I'm likely to place on the pacman. Assuming of course, this shoulder surgery doesn't end his career.

Seems to me Arum has no interest in a rematch. He's ready to move on. And so should his fans.

                  Brook fits the bill:
                  - undefeated
                  - has a title
                  - untested at the elite level

                  careful matching making don'tcha know

Pacquaio is out for a year, why is this fight even being discussed?
