Fans of boxing are hilarious. Mexico has great fighters now, has had them for decades and will continue to have them in the future. Boxing without Mexicans is like marathons without Kenyans.
I never said Cruz was a coward or Mares a bum.
I said they are fighting chumps, because those opponents are garbage. I enjoyed each of them when they were on their way up and expected them to be competing with ranked opponents. It seems as if after signing with Haymon, theyve done the total opposite. I want to see these guys fight better competition, hell, even fight eachother!

Now if you enjoy one sided fights where youll know the outcome before the fight has happened, then great for you. But i like competitive fights as most other do.

Boxing without Mexicans is like marathons without Kenyans. I agree.

Estrada, Chihuas Rodriguez, Pedro Guevara and Rey Vargas are a few names Spit forgot to mention. If you only know Canelo, Chavez, Mares and Leo... I suggest you learn more about the subject at hand before ranting or posting and making yourselves look clueless

I stand corrected in that regard. But Mexican boxing has been thin on talent lately you cannot deny that.

Sure you can, well... Only if you watch and understand that boxing exists below the Feaherwieght division.

              T.S. is a grade A casual, .

Chavez Jr. and Santa Cruz are the best Mexican fighters?

Juan Francisco Estrada, Canelo, Abner Mares, Francisco Rodriguez Jr., Pedro Guevara, Carlos Cuadras, Francisco Vargas, Oscar Valdez, Gilberto Ramirez, Ray Beltran, Diego De La Hoya, Orlando Salido, Jhonny Gonzalez, Javier Mendoza, Rey Vargas, Andres Gutierrez, Antonio Orozco

Mauricio Herrera, Mikey Garcia, Frankie Gomez, Jose Benavidez Jr., Jose Zepeda, Julian Ramirez, Jessie Magdaleno, Hugo Centeno Jr.

Mexican boxing is doing just fine.

What really needs to change is the style. It seems like since the Margarito era its been all about trying to walk guys down and not cutting off the ring & then they want to compare it to Julio Cesar Chavez. For one there was a craft behind Chavez's style, he knew how to cut off the ring similar to GGG (without the switch step) and Chavez was very good at rolling with the punches which made his chin look granite (which it was) but it helped that he went with the punch and didnt take them flush ie. Margarito vs Mosley. But with that said there was only one Julio Cesar Chavez, so every Mexican fighter needs to quit trying to be him or if they want to, they need to learn to emulate his craft correctly. Jose Luis Castillo was the last Mexican (poor mans version) that could work that style to an extent.

Also, I think to many Mexicans are fighting out of their (comfort zone) weight class. Naturally Mexicans are not tall/large framed people, not saying there are not any but on average I think the average Mexican (from Mexico) is about 5'7" compared to the U.S. average of 5'9". So fighting at higher weight classes just for the $ makes Mexicans look bad. On average when you look at history, Mexicans have done best @135 or below not saying that they cant fight higher but when you are fighting guys naturally taller and wider you run into the whole "the great bigger fighter always beats the great little fighter". This is one of the reasons why I dont know why promotors/managers try and rush their fighters up in weight.

And 1 last thing, Mexican fighters need to be more active. Mexicans on average make more $ than most other boxers due to their loyal fans and styles so alot of Mexicans make a ton of $ than take 9months to a year between fights and get hella fat in between fights. Stay active and you stay in shape, that way you know when your body cant make weight anymore than move up. Dont blow up 40lbs between fights than cry you cant make weight, its like no ***** you cant make 135 anymore, you are walking around 180lbs and you are only 5'6" lol
