He has every reason to be extremely confident going into this rematch. He dominated Byrd the first time and knocked him down twice. That was also a younger more elusive Byrd then we have seen lately.I like Byrd especially lately because since he has slowed down his fights have been more exciteing but it's hard to see him making it the distance this time.He was dropped by McCline who despite his size isn't a very good puncher and Wlad is a good puncher.I can hope for a Byrd victory but I just can't see it happening.

some of his confidence may come from the idea that
Chris Byrd has arguably came close to loosing several of his last title defenses, of which he was hit during. Wlad's boxing skills are far better than the opponents that Byrd had trouble with and if Wlad lands as many punches as they did, chances are Byrd will be going to the matt at least some.

Thats a huge statement, Ike Ibeabuchi remains the only boxer to ever achieve that, and Wlad is not capable of a monster uppercut like that, however with Byrd fading he may be able to do it with an accumulation of punches. i'd still say the most probable outcome will be a Wlad UD, i can actually see Byrd winning 3 or 4 rounds this time, funny as that may be.

Byrd has slowed down and will be open to more punches than last time. I see a stoppage in Wladimir's favor somewhere in the 7th-9th rounds.

any guy who has been KO'd 3 times by inferior opposition.....should be extremely confident....?!?!?!

Byrd is way past his prime now, but he should still outbox Wlad for about 10 of the 12 rounds...and get robbed in Germany
Does anybody notice something about the 3 guys that were able to weather Wladdy's hail of jabs, left hooks and straight hands, and eventually (or quickly like Sanders did) get to Wladdy? I do!

They're all either big punchers who are very aggressive (Sanders) or else guys with good endurance (Puritty), an excellent chin (Puritty and Brewster) and decent punching power (all 3 guys).

Byrd doesn't have the punch necessary to scare Wladdy into retreating into a shell or doing a lot of holding like he did against Sam Peter. Byrd simply has the wrong style to give him any trouble.

If Wlad loses this fight, it will be the most embarrassing loss I've ever seen. There is virtually NO WAY Wlad can lose. If he still finds a way to lose, I will say he's the biggest choke artist in boxing history.

....Wlad losing this fight would be a huge embarrasment to him and his fans. Myself included. That's why this one makes me a little nervous for just that reason.
