Put it this way Pain, if Klitschko was American he would've been sitting on top of all PFP lists for the last decade. They're only putting him at #2 now.

I don't think a Ukrainian featherweight who is not a big puncher will get there. I will vote.

I agree these things will make it difficult, and I only see it happening if he beats some really good names like Rigo, but mainly if he manages to move up across divisions and be successful.

No one thought in the early 2000s that a Filipino fighter campaigning in the lower weight classes would become a P4P star and Fighter of the Decade, so anything is possible.

      You just have to believeeeee

True, but that guy had power and he beat up America's biggest star, De La Hoya.

I don't like Loma with Top Rank either, slow mfers. Loma only really has from 26 years old to 32 years old.

That was near the end of the decade though - I don't think we could imagine what would happen near the end of 00s at the start when Pac first appeared on HBO.

The thing I will say here is Loma has an advantage that there isn't as much potential talent and potential stars that could block his path to #1. Pac had huge American stars in Mayweather, RJJ and ODH to contend with, as well as Mexican greats like Morales/Barrera/Marquez.

The current guys who could be a threat to Loma probably centre on Canelo, Crawford maybe...also interesting that Roman Gonzalez is now at #3 on the RING P4P rankings - someone who is in a low weight class and pretty obscure to casuals.

I agree with Weebler that it will be difficult for Lomachenko to be recognized as the #1 due to his nationality, he certainly has the potential to reach it but he will have to prove more than an American to reach it. The good news though is that he may be competing with only other non-Americans to get there.

How do you guys explain fighters like GGG and Roman Gonzalez being as high as top 5 p4p despite not being American? Roman for the most part fights overseas while GGG is still vastly unproven yet both are getting praise despite the "nationality barrier".

Very good fighter. How's his beard? With that said his defense is really good so we may never need to find out.

It's excellent. I've never seen him in trouble and whenever he has been hit he has taken it very well, showing no visible reaction of ever being backed up or hurt. It will need to be proven on the world level stage of course, but I'm willing to put it out there that I believe he will never be KO'd over the course of his whole career.

Still early in his Pro Career but very Impressive so far, always said him and Robeisy Eloy Ramirez Carrazana from Cuba impressed me the most during the 2012 Olympics! They was head and shoulders above the rest and just made it look so easy vs Everybody in their Divisions to go on and win Gold
