If Pacquiao had a rotator cuff injury so "severe" that he was considering postponing the fight, the idea that he was getting by on anti-inflammatory injections is absolutely ridiculous.
Severe rotator cuff injuries require surgery and surgery is usually indicated as soon as possible after the injury. No competent doctor dealing with a professional athlete requiring full strength and use of the shoulder would ever advise the use of anti-inflammatories as a substitute to surgery. These types of injuries can easily end careers, especially if not treated promptly.
It's a shame to see a fighter so admired allow his career to become the theater of the absurd but at least we now know who Manny Pacquiao really is.
