I have a very close friend who does some work for a pretty repsected boxing website and he has gotten to be pretty tight with Andre Ward...
I told my friend I wanted him to ask this exact question to Andre "level with me Andre how many times you been iced in sparring?" (obviously my freind would never ask that but I love flipping him **** about his boy)
The kid has a disconnect with his head/chin...he is no dominant future world champion-at least from this cult fans point of view. -
I think so, too. Ward is being hyped up as the next champion, but he will probably be knocked out once he fights a top guy.Originally posted by scapI have a very close friend who does some work for a pretty repsected boxing website and he has gotten to be pretty tight with Andre Ward...

Plus they always hyping his gold medal, when the amateur game is basically slap fighting and running around the ring for points.Comment

Yeah, i see andre probably gettin KOd before he goes too far. I was there when he got KD by a 6-3 Darnell Boon, who'll be fighting on showtime this friday against Anthony Thompson. Ward's opponent, Andy Kolle has a good KO rate, 9-0 with 7, though I've never seen him. Anyone know about this guy?Comment

Look at the guys record, where he's from etc...... this DEFINITELY 100 PERCENT looks like a guy they picked with a good record to make Andre look good.. Andre is, IMO, very suspect and the people in charge of running his career seem to know this. They will have to stop all their RIDICULOUS hyping of the kid (they said he would become "the greatest fighter of all-time." seriously) and try and build him much slower than they originally planned. This looks like the first step.Comment

Hey Ice I got a question for you...
When a (trainer/promoter/team) has a big time fighter like a Andre Ward or a Zab Judah that has serious chin trouble what usually would happen in sparring sessions with these types of fighters?
Lets say Judah is getting ready for Zoo or Mayweather etc and he is just been rocked like 3 or 4 times in the month leading up to the fight...do they keep this **** under lock and key type silence?
Have you ever known of a fighter that was highly touted that kept getting buzzed in the gym?
With the chin trouble that Andre Ward has shown early in his career is it safe to say he has been buzzed a bunch in sparing or would his people protect him even more during sparring sessions because they know of the possible Public Relations nightmare that could unfold if word got out?
Be curious to hear what you have to say here!Comment

Pedro Fernandez of ringtalk hypes Andre Ward up a lot, he belive in this guy, but his chin is highly suspect.
He can still make an impact but he would have to sharpen up his skills to be more elusive to fighters from getting to his chin. Especially considering he like to hold his hands low in fights at times.Comment
