And after the Marquez KO we saw Manny transition to more of a calculating, thinking boxer. When he took risks they since the KO, they were calculated, safe risks.

I really thought though that he would sell out yesterday and go for broke. Go out on his shield because it was the biggest fight of his life. He had reached the pinnacle (a Floyd fight) and had seemingly nothing to lose. But instead he largely fought like the same guy (except even way more hesitant) we saw against Rios/Bradley/Algieri.

And everyone on earth knew that Manny had no chance to ever out calculate or out think Floyd Mayweather.
    Exactly that's the key!

How could any fighter be the same guy after a knockout like that?! He was out unconscious for almost 5 minutes!

After the KO he was a hesitant Pac, a Pac who would not throw caution to the wind and be reckless when he needed to be.

Look at the second Marquez fight when he knocks him down, he literally runs through his punches to knock him down because he was getting picked off. 2010 Pac woud have thrown caution to the wind, even if he got KO or TKO it would have been a very different fight!

Why would he be gun shy when it's his last fight and he's got nothing to lose?

Credit to Floyd for the win, but the result of this fight is just plain weird and nobody can deny that.

How can you explain Pacquiao throwing only 429 punches in the most important fight of his entire career?

The same Pacquiao who threw 1069 punches against Margarito?

Yep, all it takes is that half second of hesitation. That's it. And it probably literally crosses his mind every single time he starts to jump in. It's all good though when you're fighting the likes of Chris Algieri & Brandon Rios, and even Tim Bradley to an extent, but not so much when you're in there with Floyd Mayweather. I mean not that Floyd is a big puncher, but Manny knows full well that Floyd is an exceptionally sharp counterpuncher, so he had that hesitation seemingly every time he was ready to jump in.

ANOTHER reason why this fight doesn't mean to much. This fight should have happened in 2009.

All respect to Margarito but he is a punching bag, especially at that stage of his career. You don't really expect Pac to throw less than Mayweather to be honest but then you do not expect Pac to throw 1000 odd punches against TBE neither, you can't throw against thin air, and this is what people that understand how boxing works have been saying for years, Al Bernstein said Pac would win based on his 1000 odd punches activity, it does NOT work like that al.
