well when he said he stood and fought maidana to give fans more action people joked about it and didnt believe him. saying that he has lost his legs. he said in the rematch he could just box like he normally does and win more easily then went ahead and did it. then people said he was boring and not worth watching. im pretty sure floyd can still move if he wants to, golovkin can hurt him but im not sure if he can definitely find him. i think ggg would win but i dont think it would be a ko, something more like kovalev over hopkins but with floyd actually winning some rounds.

With that said, I think this dude can beat GGG

He clearly hasn't lost his legs, seems he just chooses when to use them, that kind of lateral movement without any certain rhythm, with a large ring like last night, would make it very very difficult for GGG to land anything big on him

I'm not one of those people who thinks the size disparity would make that much of a difference in this fight, Floyd is a pretty big 147 (I can't think of anybody at 147 who's clearly bigger than Floyd is, key word being "Clearly")

I'd love to see this fight, beating GGG would be easily the biggest win of his career without a doubt

GGG is my 2nd fav fighter right now, so I'm being painfully honest here even for my own good lol

He would dismantle them and make them think twice before they throw. But first I want to see him bounce back after the long lay off I think this one Paul Smith fight will be enough for him to do it.

How would Ward make GGG or Kovalev think twice? Certainly not with his punching power which is non existent. Would he head butt them to death? Clinch and lean in for a kiss? Highly doubtful as his head would be met with deadly force on the way in. There is nothing Ward has that would be able to 'dismantle' either Golovkin or Kovalev. Ward's only chance of a win would be to try a hit and run style like Floyd and that would not work against fighters who would simply walk right through his punches and walk him down.

Let's see what he does against Smith. Anything less than an early round KO means Ward should remain very far from either GGG or Kovalev for the foreseeable future.

Floyd can try to potshot all he wants but he will eventually get cornered and hammered like never before. GGG by stoppage.

And let's not clamor for Floyd to fight some big guy from two weight classes above him. The man is 38 and at the end of his career. He doesn't have the passion anymore and he admits it over and over. He's beat the guys people wanted to see him fight with the exception of only a few guys. Let him ride off into the sunset and retire with a nice farewell fight in September.
youve not seen GGG fight anybody with half the ring intelligence of Mayweather. Its gonna take more than brute force/cutting the ring off to beat this guy

until I see GGG beat somebody convincingly like Lara or Ward, theres no reason to assume Floyd coyldnt out skill him over 12 rounds.

And Floyd never fought anyone with GGG's power, footwork, pressure and size.

I don't believe he was entirely honest with the stand and fight thing. I think Floyd just adjusted to him like he does everyone, we saw it in the latter rounds of the first fight. It's why it was a foregone conclusion that the second fight would fare worse than the first for Maidana. Once Floyd's got your number, it's over.

I also believe Maidana didn't want it as bad in the second fight. He seemed almost resigned to the loss. His gameplan wasn't as good, he seemed to have come in in worse shape as well.

GGG is not just big, he's got buckets of skill also.
A natural 147'er going up to face the top guy at 160 is asking to much IMO. GGG's punches will hurt guys at 168.

If GGG were a true welterweight maybe. GGG is just too big, coupled with his serious punch(a great punch even for middleweight), good jab, cuts off ring well, counters the jab well, and isnt afraid to take a shot to give his own.

I don't see how he could run for 12 rounds.

That being said, Floyd doesn't and probably shouldn't fight GGG. He's just too big.

Do you actually think that after 350 amateur fights and 32 pro fights that GGG has not seen just about every boxing style there is? And defeated them all? Neither Lara, Floyd nor Ward have the power to dissuade GGG from walking them down and picking them apart. Find me someone with their style and Lemieux's power and we have a discussion. Until then, I see them falling one after the other against GGG.
