Boxing is a sport where you can win or lose. It is how you play the game. Mayweather learned to play it ballroom style, while Manny Pacquiao learned to play the game toe to toe. In their May 2nd encounter ballroom style made good scoring from the judges...even though it was kinda boring to the audience expecting an action filled of fighting. It is boxing anyway.

The only part in this fight that I would have considered "running" was the last 10 seconds of the 12th round. And Floyd knew he nearly pitched a shut out so why risk it with a lucky punch. The rest of what Pac fans called running is lateral movement, which is a trait of a skilled boxer. Something that prior Pac opponents lacked.

I truly don't know what people expected. Anybody who has watched Mayweather before knew it was an absolutely possibility he could make this fight one sided and nullify anything Pacquiao possesses. Thats his game. You paid for a Mayweather fight and you got Mayweather doing what he does. If people aren't good enough to make it competitive, then that's their problem.

Fans expected to see both fighters trying to make the fight. Floyd's track meet and Manny's lack of punches caused a failure out of what could have been a big boost for the sport. Boxing probably lost fans because of this fight.

As many have already mentioned, it's a "pot calling the kettle black" scenario when Oscar complains about a fighter spoiling a super fight because of running and refusing to engage.

Oscar didn't do much more than run and potshot against Trinidad back in '99. That fight was also hyped to the gills. I had a packed house and I was pissed for weeks that Oscar ran instead of fight. Big difference is, Oscar knew he would've been KO'd if he stood and traded with Tito -not so sure that Floyd couldn't KO Pac if he choose to plant his feet and trade off for a round or two.

I think most of us agree that this fight was never going to come remotely close to living up to the hype this fight caught. In fact, I don't see any fight living up to the amount of hype it had.

The fight was larger than life, and it is in a way unfair to the fighters. But especially to the REAL fans of the sport, our Super Bowl is finally made while enduring years of mismatches and robberies, politics and other BS the sport feeds us.

I don't care for the people who didn't watch boxing last week, but watched this week. The people on the forums, and the other real fans, again are the losers.
