Cotto is his best option but I feel that fight would be huge after Cotto beats Geale and then dismantles Canelo. So I think he should fight Garcia or khan and then go for Cotto next year in his last fight.

Cotto-Maywather II in 2016 with Floyd going for his 50th win and the lineal MW Championship of the world would easily get to 2 million buys and I feel Cotto is actually the only men in his realm that stands a chance to even be competitive.

I believe that he will retire...... as king of the jungle. What more is there to prove?

i think it will be garcia, unfortunately. i like danny but he isnt good enough to compete with floyd and he has looked terrible as of late. but it makes sense from a business point of view so i think it will happen.

only fight i hope for less is khan, even though i think khan has a better chance due to his style i think he deserves it even less than garcia does. not just because garcia whupped that ass but because khan isnt willing to fight the best to earn a fight with floyd. all he does is sit around talking **** acting as if he is someone floyd needs to fight, he isnt. not even close, he is a guy floyd could fight but he hasnt done anywhere near enough to act as if he is being ducked. he has had countless opportunities to put himself in a position where floyd did have to fight him too, had he beat brook or thurman (who both wanted it) during the summer he would be shoe in for a mayweather fight now, but he rather just talk ****. i hope it blows up in his face again so i can laugh my ass off.

i hope floyd fights brook or thurman, but i dont think he will. cotto is probably the second most likely option which is alright. not as good as brook or thurman but better than garcia or khan.

edit: what i really want most is mayweather-lara, thats about as good a fight as can be made in boxing imo.

Yea I don't get why he would fight in September, he didn't take much damage but that is a quick turnaround. Although it would be a good look on the activity level on the end of his career which had waned a lot there.

If he was going to fight someone I do think it would be a Garcia, no risk easy money really. Garcia's last shot at Floyd basically and hi losing to Floyd at this point doesn't hurt him that much, his 0 doesn't have that much credibility better to just ditch that.

How is Garcia more deserving than Khan? Khan has the better resume, and the more impressive recent wins. Garcia's best win, his lucky punch against Khan, was years ago. Khan's best win, his masterful dismantling of Alexander, was just a few months ago.

Either way, regardless of who "deserves" the fight, what I care more about is who is going to give Floyd his toughest fight, and that's the fight I want to see. And right now, the only boxer who can do that is Khan.

there are better options for the fans, but from mayweathers view, cottos probly the best option.
a small lineal middleweight champ, who he beat once already.

Danny Garcia: Don't think he's in any rush to fight Floyd. Even last night he didn't seem interested. I think he and his father both know he isn't ready yet. Plus he wants to defend his titles in a home coming this Summer, so that takes him out of the equation.

Amir Khan: Can't do September and is banking on Floyd coming back next year.

Kell Brook: Hearn doesn't believe he is in the equation because he isn't known enough, plus they're also planning a defense this Summer after Gavin.

Miguel Cotto: I can't see Cotto or RNS being interested in taking this fight or even negotiating it on like 9wks notice when they probably already had plans with HBO to fight Canelo after Geale. Jumping back to SHO would break even more ties for him than he's already broken this year..

Erislandy Lara: Makes zero sense. High risk, zero reward, no fanbase, boring, has an official loss to Canelo and regardless whether you saw him as the winner, he still looked like crap and the smaller Floyd dominated Canelo.

Pacquiao Rematch: I definitely don't foresee the desire to work together or the money or being put up by either side. SHO reached their quota last night and they must know a rematch won't be as profitable for what they got paid, even if Pacquiao took peanuts. And you can certainly expect Floyd to demand more.

That really only leaves Thurman. But the question is, how well would this do, even with the traditional $60 price tag? The good news for Pacquiao is that even after a loss, he has WAY more (and better) options. He can fight Provodnikov, Matthysse, Crawford, Khan, or even Maidana and they would all be acceptable coming off of a loss of this magnitude.
