I don't see it as that much of a negative that Mayweather would win some rumored PBC belt & then retire. I think Mayweather being the first PBC champ or fighting for the first PBC title vs lets say Keith Thurman legitimates it in a way Thurman vs Shawn Porter or Amir Khan fighting for it could never accomplish. If you want public acceptance having Mayweather fight for that belt would be the way to go.

The question of why Mayweather would wanna be involved with this is certainly debatable. Maybe Haymon did some godfather **** upon first getting with Mayweather & getting him where he's at now with a 9 figure check and now Mayweather's favor to Haymon is due. Beats me, but dropping all these belts makes zero sense to me thus far.

Good post , That's pretty much what I see. If he does fight for the first PBC belt it instantly legitimizes it to casual fans and at the same time is a major blow to the other 4 sanctioning bodies especially when you have 1 of them (wbo) suing or thinking of suing Haymon

I think Mayweathers doing it because if everything goes as planned Mayweather will be heavily involved in the PBC so might as well potentially be the first to grab a belt.

Just because Mayweather proved that Pacquiao is not as good as you thought..... doesnt mean that you have to invent stories to discredit him.

      Cool story bro ^^

I have a very strong feeling that Pacquiao will find a faith healer in the Phillipines that will miraculously cure him of this torn rotator cuff that he supposedly has.

A torn rotator cuff usually requires surgery to repair it, physical therapy and at least six months of healing time. It won't heal by itself and will only get worse if it is not surgically repaired. How do I know this? Because I had a torn rotator cuff and this is what I had to go through two years ago. Also, Andre Ward had a torn rotator cuff and had to take almost a year off from boxing to recover from the surgery before he could fight again. Normally, Pacquaio wouldn't be able to fight again until 2016.

However, due to Pacquaio's faith, I believe he will be miraculously cured and will be able to go back into the ring in October or November to fight for one of Mayweather's vacated belts against Jesse Vargas or Provodnikov.

A torn rotator cuff possibly = game over, if you happen to be a 36yo who has already mentioned retirement. I suppose we will see.
