We should be talking about Mayweather v Pacquiao III, instead we watched a contest between two fighters past their best and Mayweather won against Pacquiao whos skillset has declined at his age. Mayweather on the other hand, has a skillset which doesn't decline at the same rate and for that, he has to be praised for being smart enough to fight the way he does.

All great sportsmen need rivals and Mayweather and Pacquiao should have fought at least twice, possibly 3 (depending on the outcomes) and only then would we know who was the best fighter of their era, as in any other sport, the best face the best (in their prime).

This is why UFC has become popular as the fights the fans want, happen, they find a way to make it happen when fighters are at the top of their game.

Still, I won't feel sorry for Pacquiao as he has made a fortune, yet I hope boxing learns from this and in the future we never see a repeat of such a delayed fight taking place.

He ducked Oscar til he was over the hill. Same with Pac. Ducked Margarito completely. Took 2 years off to avoid the strongest challenges. The list goes on. Try to keep up, lamoid.

Dumbest statement EVER. Floyd chased a fight with Oscar and Mosley for the longest. This shows you don't know squat about diddly or you are just salty that Manny Pacquiao got the clinic opened up on him. I was disappointed because I felt Floyd should have beat Pacquiao up more. Every time Floyd stood in the middle of the ring or walk towards Manny, Pacquiao was very vulnerable. Floyd fought cautious and got the win. There will be no more talk about Manny and Floyd being competitive EVER again. Manny is off the radar.

It feels good to be a Mayweather fan. I followed this guy since his 10th pro fight and I haven't picked against him or not believed in his abilities since that day.

I honestly feel like he's the GOAT. I've seen a lot of boxing in my time and this kid will always be remembered as the BEST for my money. Period.

It was an Okay fight, what I saw...

Mayweather landing head punches in the beginning, made Pacquiao think a little more.

Mayweather fought his fight.

Manny did not move enough to fight his fight.

Mayweather dominated with points never hurt Pacquiao once.

Manny clearly hurt Mayweather twice, perhaps up to four times.

Pacquiao perhaps because of hurting Mayweather that he won.

Mayweather will go down as an all time good fighter. But no TBE by any means, why.

This fight should have taken place 5 years ago.

Real champs dont retire to avoid new comers when they are on a streak.

Does not matter how you slice it or cut it. Mayweather left and retired and then came back. He clearly avoided fighters. STRAIGHT UP!!!

He will be known as a great defensive fighter but too much of a runner. All my children for ever and ever will know him as a woman beater and the biggest dodger of all time.

Mayweather won. Boxing lost.

Unfortunately all the non-boxing fans I have spoken have been left disappointed. No doubt it was a defensive master class by Mayweather. But, fights like this are killing boxing.

Boxing fans knew Mayweather wouldnt engage Pacquaio. But, non-boxing fans don't understand this.

Mayweather - The ATG defensive fighter. Thats it

Human beings, even with the benefit of hindsight, usually never admit when they are wrong.....

Interestingly, two writers who voted for Pac, admitted that they may have been premature..... and they admitted that BEFORE Mayweather outclassed Pacquiao.

The best fighter of the last decade, is the same guy who is the best fighter in this decade, nothing changed.

Popularity contests should not be taken too seriously.
