It was a robbery I am ashamed of boxing. Paquiao forced the fight, threw combos and did not hug. Floyd ran, hugged too much without having points deducted, only pot- shotted occasionally. At least a draw would have been fair. Any boxer that runs and hugs can be undefeated. Paquiao was too nice when tha POS floyd was saluting him, he should have punched him like he does to his rivals. Vegas ref, black, Vegas and American judges, venue, etc. The bets were also a factor, Paquiao had to KO or else the high rollers cannot lose. Robbery.

Floyd jus said he's giving up all belts on Monday
Look like Khan vs Algieri could be for the WBC title
Marquez /Brandon Rios/Sadam Ali can go after the WBO
With 154 WBC belt free I can see Cotto vs Canelo for it in the fall now
WBA belts are supers belts so the current world holders will get those

Especially when one is fighting a defensive runner. That is what ticked me off about the so-called experts and tonight's commentators. They think a fighter can cutt-off the ring when its 25ft ring and throw 80 punches a round against a defensive runner in a 25ft ring. It is impossible no matter how good of an offensive fighter one is. You can't force another fighter to stay still, you cannot hold them and make them stay put. It is impossible to keep a high punch output in these circumstances.
As for Mayweather all of a sudden he comes along and overturns decades of boxing thought and that is changing the rule that offense wins fights to defense wins fights. Yes, defense is part of the scoring, but it is the least important part of scoring and counts the least. All of a sudden throwing 35 punches per rd wins u a fight if you land 50% of them. But that is only a pathetic 17 punches per rd. Even the great defensive master Pernell Whitaker had an amazing offense. Hector Comacho later in his career did what Floyd did and judges would not give him the fights and pundits would criticize him for it. Defense was the least important part of scoring. It was always a huge deal that Willie Pep was once given a round just soley based on defense when he won a rd without throwing a punch that is because defense was thought of so little when scoring a rd.
This needs to change; no more 25ft rings, no more giving defense so much weight and no more allowing a fighter to win based on an avg of throwing 35 punches per rd.
Also, I am sick of these fighters who fight Mayweather and give him everything he wants. One thing Manny should of never allowed was a ring that large. That is what killed Maidana in the rematch and that is what was a huge part of Manny losing tonight. Another big issue is Manny is way past his prime and Floyd is not. Smaller fighters have shorter primes, especially fighters like Manny and if u recall Floyd took a 2 yr layoff from the sport which helped him stay younger. This fight should of happened 5 yrs ago and since it did not it should of never happened. Hell, I recall when Sugar Ray fought Terry Norris and he was 35yrs of age and all the boxing pundits never like to really count that fight because Ray was past his prime they would say. Sugar Rays career was never as taxing as Manny's career and Manny is a year older that when Ray lost to Norris.

I said before the fight, this story of this fight would be Mannys lack of legs and his inability to create angles like he made his name doing.
Thats all we saw. A guy that couldn't move around anymore. More than that, Manny was having trouble pulling the trigger, another sign of old fighter syndrome.
Its really disgraceful that we as fans were treated to a fight between this version of Pacquiao who as I said before, isn't even a shell of himself, and Floyd.
Floyd for his part did excellent, and showed why he is a legitimate great, but it was on show for the entire world how badly fadded Pacquiao is.
Also disgraceful was Kenny Bayless...
He didn't issue a single warning to Floyd for holding, even though he was not just holding, he was refusing to let go even as he tried to pry them apart.
What we did find out is that Pacquiao has the power to hurt Floyd. 5 years ago, I am now convinced that Pacquiao would have won.
Its a shame that we didn't get to see that fight, biggest travesty in the sports history.
