Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez Files a Lawsuit Against The AIBA

A promotional company based in Madrid, led by former WBC super welterweight and middleweight world Champion Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez, has filed a lawsuit against the AIBA (International Boxing Association) and the Spanish Boxing Federation.

Historically, the AIBA has ruled amateur boxing, but a few years ago it began to also focus on professional boxing. AIBA´s plan involves controlling professional boxing exclusively, with the ultimate goal of monopolizing the sport. AIBA is implementing a nefarious plan using constant threats to the federations, who are menaced with expulsion, as well as exclusion from the Olympic Games.

boxing should sue martinez for fraud. pretending you don't have a catastrophic knee injury in order to make money and defraud the people buying the ppv/attending is wrong.

Actually a pun further review , our views differ slightly . I believe Martinez cashed out by putting the money on himself and threw the fight. But as u stated , he definitely defrauded the people .

lol ok, its possible he thought he could win because he was fighting a faded and smaller cotto but obviously he found out quickly that he didn't have anything left and even lied about his knee not having an effect after the fight...but now his meniscus is totally torn and he needs major surgery? sure sergio. he will be in jail soon hopefully
