As long as Ward impresses he'll be invited back on HBO and other networks. As long as he impresses though. The guy he's fighting is not in Ward's class and shouldn't pose a problem for Ward. He needs to go out show killer instinct and take him out. Don't be content with getting rounds in and cruising to a UD. That will put the casual viewer to sleep.

Paul Smith isn't great but he's tough. If Abraham couldn't knock him out I doubt Ward can. This will likely be a boring one sided 12 rounder unfortunately.

neither were coming off a 1.5 year lay off or fightin him above 168...i think ward will impress in his own way, but we gotta see and i dont think there is any reason to judge to harsly he's proven

I agree. Smith is useful and he's got balls, but he's pretty limited. He made AA look like Ali in his last fight so the clue is there - Plus he was a middleweight a few years ago, this fight is between SMW & LHW and Ward is a career SMW who fought heavier as an amateur. That's just the weight aspect, now where to start with the differing pedigrees.....

Layoff or not, Ward should stop Smith late who as previously mentioned was halted by both DeGale and Groves before they reached world level.

He doesn't have to take knock him out. He just has to show offense. Has to come out and display his offensive skills. Which Im sure he has.

One thing we know as that there is a huge difference in skill level between Ward and SMith. Ward should be able to take it to another gear.
