    Watching film on oppponents

Does anyone really believe watching film on your oppponet sets you up for failure because you may watch something that's past tense like Floyd states?thats pretty dumb as far as im concerned you only learn from both current fighter tendancies and possible future ones. Some fighters say they don't watch other footage of boxers but that's not realistic and as believable to me as Mary poppins, though theirs some on this site they are not really "MARY" poppins. but are certainly "MARY"S"...with all the media and fight footage this is why we have better magnititude fights.

Floyd definitely watches film of Pacquiao. And he saw Pacquiao Live vs Erik Morales.

why exactly would watching film hurt you? Gets you ready for an opponent by seeing what they have to offer.

Maybe some fighters get an advantage of a nice fresh mind and not getting them worried, but i just see it as more harmful than good, regardless of what the result is when they fight.

It has it's benefits. Plenty of fighters have been making the same mistakes all their career. Especially fighters at the age of Manny and Floyd it's probably worth watching. If you're showing certain flaws and mistakes over and over in your mid 30's it's because it's never been rectified and never will by this point.

Floyd watches films, and he gives himself away with things he says. Like today he was asked about making Manny fight backwards to make him fight worse, and he told the reporter that Manny actually fights better going backwards.

Looking at your sig while I listen to Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What?" just makes Floyd's pull counter seem so much cooler!

The only thing Pacquiao does going backwards is put his guard up and throw jabs. Floyd wasn't being serious when he said that.. it was a set up. Floyd is going to bring it to Manny. Manny can't fight going backwards.

Exactly. Erik Morales was able to force Manny to go backwards in their first fight and Manny didn't know what to do, he just put his guard up and jumped back right out of range and resets himself. He might even be able to throw shots going backwards but he'll never be in complete control of what he's doing like Floyd can when moving backwards. Never in a million years would you see Manny throw or land a check hook while moving backwards.

Eric morales would disagree.. Got whacked forcing manny back,,,

But I do agree that floyd is better off walking manny down with high guard and straight rights
