Comments Thread For: Pacquiao: I'm Ready For Mayweather if He Fights or Runs

Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada - Filipino congressman Manny Pacquiao feels that he is ready for whatever style undefeated WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. brings to the ring Saturday night when they meet in what will be the richest fight in boxing history. Pacquiao met with the media shortly after his fan rally at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

The 36-year-old WBO welterweight champion said that he had a great camp and that he is prepared to hunt down Mayweather if the defensive specialist decides not to engage.

Great to hear Manny. Floyd could run and spoil, but with Memo on his team he might come out as a middleweight on fight night looking for a KO.

Pacquiao has to box smart have his defence right, but not be afraid to trade at the right time, so no matter what Floyd does he will have to think again, until he all out of options, overwhelmed, mentally beaten and physically beating up.

    WAR PACQUIAO!!!

Was Memo really part of Mayweather training camp for this fight?

Always remember that chicken Floyd's corner will do anything to win. They might opt to do dirty tricks.

Really, what Pacquiao should be ready for is to have his patience tested. Marquez was so effective in the third fight especially because he tested Pacquiao's patience with controlled move to and constant feints. He was able to make Pacquiao either flinch and open himself up or lunge in just to start some action, again opening himself up to attacks.

Mayweather is likely to stay just outside punching distance so he can take a step back or to the side at a moments notice. Sooner or later Pacquiao will lunge to engage. He has to resist the urge or he'll make mistakes. Speed or no speed.
